I think it would be more humane to shoot that SOB. How aweful, it is not the dogs fault at all.

Have been watching for more info on this (heard a report from a rescue woman with bestfriends.org that Mike Minton was also running over dogs with his vehicle) ... that this Mike Minton was removed from "duty" if you could even call it that! And would eventually prosecuted for his actions.

There are rumors that he was removed from duty (not confirmed) and the last thing I've heard (and as far as I know, this also has not yet been confirmed) there is a "Willy" Mike Minton wanted by the FBI since 1995 link here:
http://www.fbi.gov/mostwant/fugitive/sept2005/septmintonw.htm

From the information I've read comparing him to the FBI picture, compared with video made after shooting dogs (and adding 10 years to his looks) it does seems VERY possible this could be the same guy!! I've also read this would not be the first time a criminal was a part of the St. Bernard Parish sheriff's department. But, does seem VERY odd that a known criminal (and as dumb as he is!) would use his real name, minus the "Willy" part?

Compare FBI photo to video of dog shootings & interview with Mike Minton:
http://www.dallasnews.com/s/dws/photography/2005/katrina_video/straydogs.html

I have emailed the FBI myself... (as I'm sure MANY others have, that have seen this possible link) and if he is the SAME guy... would sure LOVE to see him behind bars for the rest of his life... but either way, sure plan to do my part to at least make sure he is held accountable for the killing of these innocent dogs! :mad:

I hope this mother f***er dies a cold painful death from a shot to both legs and just suffers for days before actually dying. Thats all he deserves. WTF kind of a human could do that.

If you stop the video where it first comes to Minton....and then compare the picture of him ten years ago with the picture of him now you can see that it must be the same guy...I stopped it where he looks straight at the camera and then I compared....and he looks VERY similar to the man wanted by the FBI.

Update on Sgt. Mike Minton (the killer of innocent dogs) -- still no word on whether he is the "Willy Mike Minton" wanted by the FBI. I know the FBI has been flooded with email on this... so if he IS the guy they are looking for, they can't miss him!

Open letter on the ASPCA site states:
http://www.aspca.org/site/PageServer?pagename=hurricane_president

"Yes, some of the unfortunate stories you are hearing are true. There are confirmed reports of animals being shot in local parishes. From what we have been able to determine, there are genuine issues of public safety. There are concerns about protecting the integrity of human remains. And there has been a loss of command and control in some of the areas where law enforcement officials do not understand how to handle free-roaming dogs. To make matters worse, vandals and looters with firearms are a threat. On behalf of concerned citizens, ASPCA Public Information coordinator Luiza Grunebaum contacted the office of Louisiana Governor Kathleen Blanco to inquire about the dog shootings that took place in St. Bernard's Parish. According to a governor's aide, the shootings occurred under the orders of Sgt. Mike Minton, the sheriff, who "took this upon himself." Grunebaum was told the shootings have ceased, and Sgt. Minton faces disciplinary charges as a result of his directive."

Disciplinary charges??? NOT GOOD ENOUGH!!!! :mad:

People are outraged... and MANY posts can be seen to the Louisiana State Senate -- Senator Walter J. Boasso:
http://senate.legis.state.la.us/Boasso/bbfinder.asp

PLEASE take a moment post your own opinion on Sgt. Mike Minton there!

There is an attorney that plans to follow up on this, and make sure that Mike Minton pays for his actions. He will do this at no charge, and has things already in the works below (a letter to Senator Boasso's assistant) and has other people lined up to help as well.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dear Mr. Tucker:
What exactly is Senator Boasso doing to stop it? Did he take Minton's badge ? And 2. The video clearly shows the dogs murdered by Minton are wagging their tails and waiting to be rescued.
The video is black and white, please do not waste time trying to deny these heinous actions. It has been mailed to every media outlet across the country and will not be forgotten, swept under a carpet or denied. Petlovers trying to help people and pets in St Bernard will not rest until Minton is brought to justice. It is the Senator's obligation to assist in that goal so the video does not remain the calling card of the parish therefore tarnishing it's reputation along with the good folks who do live there. Remember you will need outside funds to rebuild. Condemning and punishing these atrocities will go a long way.
Very Truly Yours,
MJ Feuerstein
What he diserves is a godd ole' tar roast. Thats where you cover a person in hot tar and let them suffer in it until it kills them. It usually takes a week or so before they die. Learned all this way back in middle school (mind like an elephant). After the tar is on you put feathers all over them. I think I'd have to spice it up though.
I feel so bad for the dogs. Makes me weak.
It took me an hour to upload that video, and I am SICKENED!!!!! I have a yellow lab and they kept showing yellow labs a couple of times! Not that it matters what kind. Did you see when the military guy in the beginning was clapping his hands and getting the two dogs over to the dogfood and water that the two dogs kissed each other on the way???
