No surgery..... They found a bad heart murmur. He's too risky for surgery, so he's going to be put on heart meds and he's going to be put on Royal Canin S/O to dissolve the stones and we're now looking at his quality of life and I'm going to be enjoying my time with my boy in his senior years. They don't know how long I have with him, but so long as he's happy I'm enjoying him.

This is not what I expected and I'm glad it's not a tumor. But he's still going to have to be watched closely but he's not going to be put down and that makes me want to cry!

I'm so sorry - it sounds like something major changed in just a few hours and that's even harder to deal with. ((((hugs))))

he had a heart murmur so you brought him home, so you said. where does prostate tumor come from?

Seriously my dog just died ok?!? He went into the last night because he was having a hard time peeing and the vet wanted to have him to do surgery to remove bladder stones without even x-raying him. I took him home from that vet. Booked the surgery at a vet I felt more comfortable with and is my normal vet this morning. Dropped him off and went home got a call telling me that his heart was enlarged and he had a bad murmur, so he was too risky for surgery. Well they were going to run a cathidre on him and couldn't even get it in him that when they discovered his prostate was so enlarged that it was blocking off his bladder, I got the canal 15 mintues from picking him up. I made the choice to end his suffering because I wasn't going to put my dog through anymore pain. He had tumor that had been there and that tumor took my dogs life.

I took him to the vet this morning for a simple surgery and came home to bury my dog. This is not how it was supposed to and don't you date judge me on facts you know nothing about. I loved that dog and my world ended today so keep your snide unnesacry comments to yourself.

I was not to supposed to put my dog down today, I was not supposed to lose my dog to cancer.

She said they couldn't do the surgery, but never in her post does she say she brought him home.

I am so very sorry. Just... really, really sorry.

My heart goes out to you and your family. I understand how hard it is right now not to have Beau with you. We lost our Max the same way in that we took him to the vet for help and he never came back home with us. It's going to take time to heal. Try to remember all the love you shared. Hugs
