I have a 4 yr old maltese female who has had good health up until last week end when she started to shake and look generally unwell.I took her to the vet and he said she had a temp but that was all he could find so send us home with antibotics.2 days later she had a seizure that was bad and lasted along time.so we rushed to the vet and were told it didnt look good but they didnt know what she had.the next day she couldnt walk but looked ok then inthe afternoon she had another seizure and a few hours later another. then the next day she looked bad ,shaky, head tilt, unable to walk and vision probs the vet said it could be meningitis and put her on strong antibotics. since then every day she seams to get a little better, but now the vet thinks it may be toxoplasmosis and it may take a long time (1-2months ) to recover if she does recover.
So my question is please tell me if you have heard of this or have had a dog with it and let me know how it ends and if the recovery is good. I dont want to see her suffer but i cant just let her go.

My neighbor's dog ( 14 or so ) has toxoplasmosis , but hasn't had the seizures . Her back legs are moving much better and her head isn't tilting as much ....been almost a year . Good luck to you and your baby !

Go to another vet, get some experienced opinions for sure. Best of luck to you and your pup, it must be very hard to go through.

Get input from another vet for sure. My goodness those are horrible symptoms you are describing. I am so sorry to hear you are going through this. Post a follow up on your pup's condition.
