using a harness/leash

My husband and I recently aquired a 7 month old pug and went crazy in petsmart buying it all types of things, including a small harness (since we read that collars aren't recommeneded for pugs) and a leash. Is it too early to begin teaching him to walk on a leash. Any training tips?

I don't think it's too early. I'd begin by letting him run around the house with his harness on just to get him used to it. Then add the leash and let him run around with that. you may find this site interesting. http://www.clickerlessons.com/loose.html
