Don't know about dogs, but our cat went to the vets on Monday with this problem.
Just a course of antibiotics for him
Don't worry too much, these kinds of problems are common in humans, cat, and probably dogs. Your vet will know for sure and help you far more than here
I've gone through it with kittens and cats. I assume the symptoms are similar. Very frequent urination with not much urine. It's also painful and you can tell they're in pain. They want to go on cold places like lenolium (sp?) or tile floors. Sometimes there is blood in the urine.
Taking your puppy to a vet is a good idea. If it's a uti, the vet will probably give you an antibiotic and a pain pill. I changed my cats' food and made sure their litter box was sparkling clean all the time. I don't know what to suggest for prevention with a puppy. Might ask your vet.
Yes, I had a dog once that had a UTI. She would squat to pee ALL the time and it constantly dribbled out. She would also whine just a little. Even if your dog doesn't have these symptoms it's good that you're taking it to the vet anyway. That's not something I would chance.
It's painful and can lead to other problems as well. Maybe some others here will have more thoughts.....
my puppy will poop #2 with no problem. he knows where to go. but pee, is a different story. he will go to his spot, but then other times he wont. it seems like it just comes out.
