I haven't been in the best mood today, and my parents were getting pissy over it. . . so my mom brought out the 'New Moon' DVD she just rented and told me that if I kept misbehaving, she was going to make me watch it.

She added that it was going to be a family movie night, too. :yikes:

I've been behaving really, really well for the last two hours. :rofl1:

I figured I'd share this in case any of the parents on here are looking for tips on how to make their 19 year olds behave. :p

Yah, the whole family activity thing was enough to make me crawl into a cave, although I found that if I kept making vicious editorial contents during the event I'd be free :rofl1:

It still works.

Haha My friend made me watch it, but then made me leave after I wouldn't stop saying that the guy with the hair and the obnoxious girlfriend drives a mom car (I think it was a volvo or something. lol)

They just laugh. :(

Pfft what's wrong with Volvos? They're safe! I'd totally rock a Volvo wagon. :p (Then again, I'd also drive a minivan. You may want to take this post with a grain of salt.) If, by obnoxious girlfriend, you mean the main character, I'd say she's whiny and idiotic if anything. . . she'd need to have more of a personality to be obnoxious. You win 10 points for being kicked out, though. :rofl1:

I am the weird punisher when it comes to my sister. She cops such fierce attitude with my mother all the time and I get to be the iron fist. So I'll only let her eat foods you'd eat with a spoon with a fork (ever tried to eat cereal with a Fork? :D ), only allow her to wear one sock, give her a pillow case to sleep on with no pillow. HAHA. I'm evil. But it works. Normal punishment does not work with her so I get creative. Don't want to put your shoes away? Fine, but you don't get to keep the laces. She caught on pretty quick all of that are not rights and all those small things get taken away if you want to be a ten year old brat.

:rofl1: :rofl1: OMG........I used to love that show! I loved the "THEY JUST DIDN'T CARE" parts! LOL, they'd show ZIPPERS on the backs of monsters, MICROPHONES hanging into the scene from above, etc etc.

Now you've made me want to watch it! -----> LINKY

Alright, I am old so I have a different perspective on this whole thing. First thing, once you are OLD like me, You will begin to Cherish the times you can come together as a family. (with any luck)

Second, a young gal I know forced me to watch this movie too and all I can say is UGH! Bad acting, bad scripting, bad casting, and MOM CAR is right. I had read the books and they talked about this "cool car" when I saw it come buzzing (not revving like a real car) I laughed out loud. That is cool? Are you kidding? Yeah and the whole sparkle thing? :yikes: :yikes: :yikes:

Oh, I don't know about that, Inga . . . The older I get the more I realize that I have no obligation or inclination to donate time out of my life to people I have no common interests with or regard for.

My mom had this wonderful idea the other day -- a big "family" picnic; her youngest brother and his family and their kids, her friend and the friend's family, us.

Um. No. She thought the reason I said I wasn't coming was because I didn't want to subject the guy I'm seeing to my family -- no, it's because I don't want to spend an entire day with people I can't stand (family) and people with whom I have no common ground at all (mom's friend), i.e., people I hope to never have to see again and people I don't really care if I see again or not.

It's great to cherish time together -- as long as it's with people you really do cherish.

'Saurus, if they're just laughing, you're not doin' it right . . . or enough ;) Ever watch Mystery Science Theatre 3000? Amateurs
I hated that show, it drove me nuts!!

Its pretty easy for me to get out of family time, I just slip quietly out of the room at the first opportunity. Its not hard to do when you're like me, not particularly noticeable in the first place. :p

I saw the movie with my niece. It wasent as terrible as the first. But still not good.

Though the werewolves were pretty...........................................but should werewolves really be pretty?

I liked "Wolf Man" with Benicio Del Toro better :D.

Exactly.

People I share dna or blood with do not necessarily mean more to me than friends. I can think of many, MANY, 'blood relatives' I wouldn't answer the door for, LOL and even more than that whom I will not WILLINGLY spend time with.

I am not a family reunion goer, don't care to spit on most of them if they were on fire. It pains my mother and she raises cane about us not going to the family reunion most of the time..........life goes on ;)

once when my daughters were little & being particularly bad, i went in to their room. then my wife hears the loud SNAP, SNAP of a belt. she came rushing in to find me holding the belt doubled and telling my girls (much to their dismay) that they would not be allowed to snap the belt until they started behaving & listening to their mom better.

LMAO, Pops :D

Now, at our house, growing up, my mom would have been standing there telling my dad he wasn't hitting me hard enough with the belt.

lol lol lol

my mom never let my "whomever she was with at the time" displine us . she was fierce though. could whip her shoe off and beem me in the head at 30 paces , and i could not even begin to count the wooden spoons that have been broken over my hard headed butt.

ah those where the days , no worries except to hone the duck reflex!:rofl1:

I got my dad a belt for Christmas . . . once. Guess how it got broken in?

Grammy, I can't stand being around the assholes. It's fine with me if I never see them again. Better than fine, actually.
