We just returned from staying at my parents house overnight with the dogs. They dont have dogs, and could take or leave them personally. They did let us bring our dogs up for the night though, as long as they stayed in the unfinished (but still comfortably heated) portion of the basement in their cages. We were happy with that also. So off we go. Arrive safe and sound without incident and take the dogs out for awhile as I set up cages. Then the fun begins. Shakespeare was barking almost non stop. He wasnt too noticeable with the TV on but I knew bedtime was going to be a pain.

Bedtime rolls around and I decide to keep the dogs company all night. So I pull an old blanket into the basement, and my good one, and sleep on the basement floor all night. Well try to sleep I should say. The dogs were allowed out of their cages while I was in there, but basement floors arent too comfy for the back. Im really going to be paying for it tomorrow I bet.

But its all worth it, dogs stayed quiet all night and were all home and the dogs have their real cages back. Im off to get some sleep now before another (dog free this time) relative visit.

Merry Christmas

Yowch. I've done that before (not in the basement though). You'll be paying for it for a few days, believe me.
