Some people are just... Grrrr! I'm thinking some evil thoughts right now. Here at work, we've just come into possession of a poor little APBT puppy. He was wandering around in the parking lot, and a concerned customer alerted us to his presence. He is horribly emaciated, his ears were chopped off (obviously a home job) and had misshapen plastic discs sewed onto them, his ears were badly infected, he was dehydrated, full of all kinds of worms, gunk filling his nose and eyes, and he has what looks like cigarette burns all over his stomach. We think he's about twelve weeks old, but we're not completely sure. As we were dosing him with meds, the poor little guy wagged his tail and tried to give us kisses. I want to find these people. I want to find them and do terrible things to them.

For now, he is quarantined here at the store. He will go home with my boss tonight, and he may be coming with me some of the time. We're just working on getting him healthy now. The most likely result is that he will be fostered here until we can find him a good home. With all of our customers being animal people, he has a good shot at finding a home with one of them. He definitely walked up to the right store.

Oh no! Poor little guy... I can't believe that anybody would do that to a puppy!!!

Let me know when you track down the arse responsible. I will buy a plane ticket to help you beat them up.

ditto (((((HUGS))))
Could the cigarette burns be impetigo (sp?) ?
The vet agreed that they were burns, but I don't know enough about impetigo to say for sure.

The little guy (Jean Pierre Justice, as he has been affectionately dubbed by myself and my coworkers) is currently snoozing on a nice warm fleece bed. He doesn't seem to want to eat, but he did drink some water.

Bad news. He had seizures all night, and he's being taken to the vet now. My boss told me to be prepared because chances are, I won't be seeing him again. She thinks it may be distemper. It's going to be a long day.

Oh no. :( ***HUGS***

Prayers for the little guy. You're amazing for taking him in MHMR. If he doesn't make it, just take comfort in knowing he was loved by someone in his short little life.
