I've never seen a crucifix in New York floating in urine, and I would find that about as ridiculous and blasphemous as that cheese sandwich with the bite out of it that presumably had the face of the virgin Mary on its toast, sold on Ebay for five figures.

And finally... I just have to ask... how is Islamic fundamentalism any worse than Christian fundamentalism in this country?
I sympathize with your position, but really, is it kind to deny Islam one of the few 'best of' prizes they've managed in the last few centuries? While I don't doubt that Christian fundies dream of bad, bad things, they haven't actually done most of them. And if there's one thing the 20th century should have taught us, it's that 99% of success is showing up. When it counts, where there's a moral lapse to punish or a big statue to destroy, those Islamic fundamentalists showed up. Posturing in courtrooms and running for political office just doesn't cut it. If the Christian fundamentalists in the US were a grave and present danger, they'd have us on our ass by now. God knows, they're all gun owners.

The greatest slaughter of man occurred as, once again, a result of religion, also known as the Crusades

http://gbgm-umc.org/umw/bible/crusades.stm

All in the name of "God" .

Then there was the great Inquisition and the Burnings of the witches and the cats, which in turn resulted in the plague. Christians are not without their bloodied hands either.

Religion has killed more people than any other issue since the beginning of "civilization". Hitler himself thought he was a Christian and was "chosen".

Actually, Kama, Puck has said on several occassions that he has no love for the Shrub ;)
They must have had a falling out then.. awwwww..

I guess Bush isn't killing enough Iraqis for Puckstop's liking?

As I recall, Puck had Bush listed as one of his heroes on one of his external link pages, yahoo or myspaz or something, dont remember. I thought it was hilarious when I read it. Told me all I needed to know about this man.

Come now Renee... Kama never deals in mere facts.
Shouldnt you be out building a nuclear shelter or something? It won't be too long before the enemies of America detonate that dirty bomb in your backyard, now that the Dems are in power.

Better hurry, the sky is falling, you are running out of time.

It is funny to see the right wingers running around like chickens with their heads cut off.... LOL

Kama, I know there is no love lost between you and Puck, but please keep the personal, public zings to a minimum.

You guys can duke it out in private all you want, but seeing as we don't allow other members to zing each other on the boards, you two don't get a special exemption.

In response to fundamentalism

My favorite bumper sticker I have seen....

"In the heart of every religious fundamentalist lives the spirit of the Taliban"

I love that LOL! Now lets hang the lot of em.
When the course of government, like a descending glacier, cannot be altered by any action, by any petition, by any protest, by any desperate striking out, the nation is enslaved.

When the people have at last discovered that it makes no palpable difference to their well-being which party takes power and, in despair, display the pain of their impotence by shunning the polls on election day, the people are enslaved.
