So my friend called me about half an hour ago and left a message on my voice mail that her dog (lab, hes about 6 or 8 months) has been throwing up all day (atleast 10 times) has dieahrea (sp?) is becoming more and more bloated as the time passes and is lethargic. I called her back as soon as I got her message, within 15 minutes and told her to take him to emergency right away. So shes on her way. This is her first dog and is unsure of somethings so I help her with info as I can. But anyways back on topic. The only thing that came to my mind is possibly a twisted stomach or a block of some sort. Does anyone have ideas of what could be possibly wrong with him?? Im worried for the little guy and really hope its nothing that cant be fixed. Now its the waiting game and I sit by my phone to her from her. Waiting is so stressful and its not even my dog.

:O if he's bloating up she def needs to go to the vet as soon as possible. when yoshi got bloat she didn't go to the bathroom but she threw up a lot. but she got HUGE. it's extremely deadly and she has to rush him there. even if it's not it's good that she's going to the vet because it still sounds like something that isn't good. please keep us updated!! i remember when that happened to yoshi and i remember it was terrifiying

I can think of several things IT COULD BE, but it's best to just wait for the vet's report. No sense in worrying about lots of things. The vet will know what to do. Your friends dog is going to the right place.

P.S. I've heard of a couple labs around my area eating things like socks, dog toys, etc. Hummmm....

Tell her to get him to the vet ten minutes ago. If it's bloat, he's in immediate danger and could well be dying as we speak.

Is he trying to vomit? Roached back? How are his gums? Eating anything or drinking anything? Pacing?

Tell her to GO GO GO.

Better to get to the vet and find out it's nothing serious than to wait and have him die. Bloat is critical.

Okay, she's on her way, I just calmed down and read that again. Sorry, I've rrecently endured a bloat episode with my dog, and it brought all the emotion back again to read the title of the post. :(

yeah, it could be bloat or he could be a typical lab and ate half of the things in her dresser, some plastic pill containers from the trash and some napkins. Either way he would need surgery and his intestines might die. I really hope everything is OK, I'll pray for the little guy.

Wow! It's morning and I see you don't have an update on this guy's condition. Hopefully, you will be able to post before you head off to work (school, or whatever you do...). I'm keeping my fingers crossed your friends dog is going to be okay.

GREAT NEWS!

So I just talked to my friend, finally got ahold of her and I swear if this happened to me Id kill my bf. So after she talked to me last night she started packing up her dog and getting him into the car and telling her bf they had to go they had to take Duke to the emergency. Just as she is going out the door her bf decides to tell you that he forgot to mention to her that Duke got into his food and ate about half the bag of a brand new bag of food. This would explain him bloated and slow and lethargic and vomitting none stop. Anyways when she got up this morning he wqas back to himself. No more vomitting back to up beat and wanting to play all is well.

All I know is if my boyfriend never told me very important information like that and it caused me to worry that bad someone would be sleeping on the couch for a very long time.
