The movie was crap too. So weak. Lacking in character development. I had the feeling I needed to read the book first to really understand the characters and that's just lame.
Meh... the book doesn't really have "character development", either...

Meet awkward girl (imagine that she's you)!
MEET SUPER HOT AND MYSTERIOUS BOY!

And then the rest of the book...

HOT BOY HOT BOY HOT BOY HOT BOY HOT BOY HOT BOY oh he's a vampire HOT BOY HOT BOY HOT BOY HOT BOY HOT BOY HOT BOY!!!!!!!!!!

:rofl1:

Really, I did enjoy the book, but really just because now I get to have these conversations about it.

You know what really bugged me about that movie? When they were playing baseball and those other vampires showed up. They say "wear your hair down" and that other girl says "like that would help I can smell her across the field" and then apparently this really talented tracker doesn't notice her at all until they turn to leave and the wind catches her hair. And yet later he can tell the difference between her smell and her jacket being worn by another girl. How convenient.

Edit: And what's with the native family? Is that something you would have had to read to understand??
