I went to the vet today to have my dogs teeth looked at. I was hoping the tooth that was not coming in correctly was one of his baby teeth, but it turns out it's one of his permanent incisors.

I was planning on showing him and I'm not sure how strongly this will affect his performance in the ring. One side of his bite is correct and the other side has that stupid tooth. The vet said if I chose to leave it in, it shouldn't cause any problems in the short run, but it may in the long run. He also said I might have the option of the dentist, but I'm not sure how that goes with the ethics of breeding as I'm not sure how significant a problem/fault it is.

For those of you who show in conformation, how will this impact his performance?

I've just recently emailed the breeder about it today.

His other side is correct.

What can/should I do?

Did the breeder sell you the pup under contract? Did she promise he would be of "show" quality?
I dont know much about show breeders...I dont know what thier policy on show quality pups are and what kind of guarantee they give.
Best thing to do is ask your breeder. Thats what they are there for.:)
