We noticed Trike has been drinking a ton of water and he also stopped eating his dry food. We thought ok maybe hes just tired of his dry food and switched to something else. Nope...So now he also dropped weight. Please he just looks sad and hes been kind of grumpy around us and the other dogs...but he still plays...

We took him to the vets today and they drew blood and took a pee sample and sent us home saying they will call us in a couple of hours.

The vet thought maybe diabetes, kidney infection or something with the liver.

We just got a call and the vet said he will have to get back to us tomorrow because the tests didn't give him a direct answer because a bunch of stuff came back with subtle changes and he needs to research it more............

So now i'm just like wtf does that mean?? Something really bad????

Those sound a LOT like Tucker's symptoms, he had lymphoma in his kidneys :( Don't worry too much though, Tucker's condition was really rare and those symptoms could apply to a large number of different things. I really hope you get good news from the vet, keep us updated!

Glad to see you back, btw :)

Good luck! We just went through this and it turned out to be a liver shunt. How old is Trike? The vet told us that symptoms usually arise around 3.

Sending healing vibes. Try not to overthink this until the vet can give you definitive answers.

Thanks guys!!

Not very good news...He said it's liver disease! :(

Next step is tomorrow night we fast him and take him to the vet's on Friday at 7:30am and they do another blood test...feed him wait 2 hours and do another blood test to see if his liver is functioning (what we want to see) and if it is hes going to talk to a specialist and try and see whats going on..

If it's not functioning the next step would be to do a biopsy of his liver!

So lets hope on Friday we find out that his liver is functioning!!

Poor Trike.
