Hi Guys,

I know this is probably a very much repeated post on the forum but I was wondering if you guys could suggest or recommend some healthy and tasty treat for my 13 week mini schnauzer. I was looking online and there are just so much to choose from and I don't want to be feeding him junkie treats. Anyone have a good and healthy liver treat they can recommend to me? Has anyone tried the Charlee Bear Treats, Blue Dog Biscuits, Gimborn Liver Treats...??

Thanks!

The only one of those I've tried are the Charlee Bear treats, and Meg won't touch them if there are any distractions around - she's not super food-motivated on the best of days, and dry treats mean little to her.

Personally, I think the best, healthiest treat to use is something like chicken. I go to the deli counter and buy end cuts of the meats and cut them into tiny pieces. I'll freeze a couple pounds at a time in little snack baggies, and thaw them as I need them. It does take a bit of time to cut them up, but I can end up with several weeks worth of treats (and I treat-train a lot) for under five dollars.

Of the store-bought dog treats, my favorite are the Zuke's mini treats. I keep a bag of them in my car at all times for times when I don't have meat with me. Meg will eat them in all but the most distracting/stressful of situations.

Good luck with your puppy!
