Its a little over a week till my road trip with Ronan to Premier and I keep going through the packing list in my head to make sure I have everything thought out and ready. As summer time tends to be traveling time for many people I thought a thread on what is important to have along when traveling with your dog would be a good idea! So, what is your packing list for your dog when going away for a bit with him/her??

MY LIST SO FAR....

Registration/Ownership papers (CKC)
Rabies Certification and Vaccination Papers/Vet History Booklet
Tags
Collars (including an extra)
Leads (normal one, flexi lead and traffic lead)
Tie Out/long lead
Crates (on this trip he gets 2, one for the hotel room and one for the show grounds)
Water bucket that hangs on crate
Food/water bowls
Bottles of Water (for the road) - some frozen
Food (I plan on buying most of it when we get there but always good to have some on hand already)
Rags/Towels
Liquid Band-aid (great for quickly closing small cuts!)
Polysporin
Time passers, like a kong to stuff
Toys (specifically a couple that squeek for emergencies if he gets loose)

Ok I'm probably missing some key ones still but its late and thats a good start...What else??

Don't know what else . . . You've thought of more already than I ever take ;)
LOL! I'm so used to traveling for races where I need heaps of stuff like lines, harnesses, bowls for 8 dogs, etc etc Its weird to only be packing for one. On the flip side I wanna make sure Im prepared since its a 6hr drive over the border! Eek! I'll be bringing his harness and either my scooter or my bike for some "down time" too

You've got everything I either keep in the vehicles or take when we travel. The only other thing I can think of is an extra ID tag for the spare collar. Oh yeah- you know those shrinky dink type tags that you write on and bake? I have one for just about every place we took Mick (my mother, hubby's parents, friends, sister, etc). I got them way before we had cell phones, but it sure helps up at my sisters where there is no cell reception. And, just to be on the safe side, I keep a copy of vacs certs, town license, neuter cert and Avid cert in the glove box of each vehicle as well as in our training bag.

Ear, eye, drops for emergencies.
Something for diarhea in case something upsets his system maybe.
Recent pictures of your dog for identification in case (heaven forbid) he might get lost.

Thanks for all the great ideas guys!!!!!!

Sisco, the UKC Premier is a huge UKC event that includes conformation, obedience, agility, weight pulling, sport dog (bitework-type stuff), dock diving, terrier races, and show dogs (as in a performance by dogs). I go every year and it is sooooo much fun!!! Last year and this year I handle Estrela Mountain Dogs in conformation and for the first time Ronan gets to come along too!

that look like alot of fun we have some events like that around here but i mainly just go to watch.
