It was way too cheesy. Entertaining, yeah, but that's about it... Not the kind of movie I will want to see again.

But yeah, lots of people thought it was awesome so *shrug*.

Well honestly now a movie like that isn't about the story line.....

They could have really screwed it up with how they did the action sequences and the graphics and what not but apparently all those were stellar.

I doubt it'll win any academy awards for the plot, but it was entertaining and the action sequences were cool. I liked it.

Oh it was well done, I agree. Just a few things that I found silly in the movie, like characters that seem totally useless except that ta-da! they are actually useful at the very end. Bleh. Too cliche!

But I'm picky about movies :D

I want to see it with my son. he is now 29, and transformers were the rage during his childhood. (I bought my fair share!!) we were just talking about it...Optimus Prime, etc. LOL anyway, I think it looks like good, movie fun. and a trip back for a little nostalgia for us! :)

LOL Tim dragged me to it, I thuoght I'd hate it.. but it was awesome. I loved it!

If you watched the cartoons way back when.. you'll understand it lol

Otherwise, the graphics are fabulous and the humor in it was great!

BRILLIANT Directing in that movie.

(SPOILER ALERT: Do not read on if you do not want to see the plot and/or ending.)

It really takes talent to get a audience to relate to characters that are alien robots. I went into the theater expecting a cheesy plot line with lots of cool techno-wizardy fight scenes.

IMHO, not so. While the story itself will not will any awards, it was interesting enough that I made myself wait until the part where they were showing off the cube thing and Megatron at the Hoover Dam to go to the bathroom. LOL (I could predict what I would miss, which was nothing.) It was just amazing to me how much time they spent developing Bumblebee. At the end, I was really bummed when he got hurt. I did not realize it until the movie was over that I actually really got into the movie. That has not happend to me in a long time.

I was paying attention at the end for how they develop a sequel, but I don't see how. Megatron is dead and the cube thingy is destroyed.

Oh and I wonder how much GM paid to have that movie be one BIG GM commercial? LOL

GREAT flick. 4.5 out of 5 stars. :lol-sign:

Oh and I gotta add.... It just would not have been Hollywood with out getting a stab in a Bush. The scene right after stuff gets exciting. The Air Force One stewardess goes into his cabin, asks him what he wants....

In a good Texas accent, laying on the bed, no shoes but RED socks...

"Can you round me up a couple of Ho-Ho's"

Epic stuff. LOL

Of course they blalance it out by having the SECDEF being one of the heros.

Puck, they could easily make a sequel.
Megatron might be dead... but there were other villains.
Starscream took off at the end so he can go find more decepticons and bring them to earth.
He could find/create Galvatron (in the orig. comics galvatron was created from a destroyed megatron... we have a destroyed megatron now).

There's always Unicron, Shockwave, Soundwave, Scourge, the contructacons forming Devastator, insecticons...

Either way the film is a box office hit beating records set by spiderman 2. I'm sure they'll figure out a way.

And if you think way back to the original... the transformers crashed on earth looking for energy to revitalized there planet. Allspark is gone now so they'll have to find alternate sources... plundering earth and getting revenge on the autobots/humans seems like a good motive to bring them back to earth.

Excellent points Sharky. See, that is why I will NEVER be a good story writer. I have no creative talent in that way.

I just hope they do it some day.

I would bet on it... The film has grossed $320 million so far and it hasn't opened in the UK yet.
The film only cost 147 million so with figures like that, it makes it hard to ignore the success and not want to capitolize on it.

That and they've already been given the greenlight to work on plot/script for two sequals :p

I loved that movie, too! It actually had a much better plot than I expected; it gave a pretty decent amount of depth.

Hubby and I wanna see it again on the big screen.
