So when I got my puppy I bought a Bargain Hound training crate at PetSmart. Im sure its a popular buy cause I think its their main brand. The problem is the plastic pan for the floor has now cracked. And I realized on their website by customer reviews, that pretty much everyone has had this problem. And now the problem is, to buy a replacement it is $45 plus shipping and handling! Almost the price of a whole new cage. And the people that have bought replacements still have them to crack.

I was wondering if anyone has had the same issue and what you did for a solution. I cant afford to keep buying a $45 pan evey couple months. It would be great if I could find like a metal sheet pan that is 24x40 to fit the cage, but I been unsuccessful in that so far.

Anybody have any ideas? Im tired of cleaning up pee out of the floor every day!

I don't get the purpose of the crate. Is he supposed to pee in it. Most people who crate train do it so they DON'T pee in the crate.

^^^^^ Agree !!! Tape up the bottom of the pan and put a towel under it in case of accidents.

Obviously the object is for him not to pee in it......but I would guess thats why its called crate TRAINING. I didnt expect to put him in his cage and he magically quit peeing.

Most of the plastic bottomed crates I've dealt with at home and at work have cracked. Duct tape is your friend!! You can also prevent future cracking by putting a solid surface, such as a thin piece of plywood, between the metal crate bar bottom and the plastic tray.

I've been using the same MidWest crate for 3 years for Dante and the crate pan is in perfect shape, not a crack anywhere.
