As I mentioned before, I'm picking up our puppy this Friday. As excited as I am, I'm starting to get a little stressed out now. I'm looking for some information on training. I heard, a while back, about a book that comes highly recommended for training dogs; I just can't remember the title. The title has the word "Tibetan" in it. Is anyone familiar with this book? If not, is there another book that you can recommend?

Thanks! :)

The Monks of New Skete?

One book you should go pick up is "How to Raise A Puppy You Can Live with" by Rutherford and Neil.

(beat you to it, Grammy! :D )

There were 2 threads started, one by myself, about trainers and owners favorite training books and videos. It was a very nice list. Hope you can pull it up. What kind of puppy are you bringing home? Don't stress out, no sleep, middle of the night potty breaks, wondering where that ink pen droppped on the floor went, trying to get that food amount right so there's not so darned much coming out the other end, why is it hiccuping, what is that smell?! Just one more hour of sleep... puppy kept me up all night. Piece of cake!!

Thanks!

Yes! Yes! The Monks of New Skete!!!!! Thank you Zoom. (Not Tibetan - what was I thinking?)
I will certainly check out the other book as well!!! Thank you.

Thanks otch1 I will try to find that thread. Oh yes, puppyhood. I'm tired already! Uninterrupted sleep - I will most certainly miss it. Hopefully it's a smart puppy and eager to learn. I'm bringing home a "Ganaraskan" - long story. If you are curious there's a recent post still on this page.
