Hopefully now I can get her spayed.

Strange how breeders can miss "the" day. They did progestrone tests on her to find her "days" of ovulating. Did AI's every 2nd day...and she's not pregnant. Any other dog gets loose while in heat and bam they get pregnant.:)

The breeder is not too happy:(
The one and only litter Tori had produced beautiful healthy pup's. I think the breeder was really hoping for another Madison, one of Tori's pups that got her championship titles very quickly in Canada, and States. She was getting BIS left right and center. Tori also did fantastic in the show ring.

The only thing I dread (if allowed to spay) is the spay coat...groan. I just had Dilon nuetered and the coat on him now...it's horrible. They seem to grow a ton of coat.

Did you find that with your Goldens bubbatd?

I didn't know if Golden's had the same problem. Newf's are notorious for getting the dreaded spay coat. All Newf's I have owned once Nuetered/Spayed have gotten that big heavy...tons of coat. What a huge difference from being intact. Dilon had a lovely coat before being nuetered, after being nuetered, his coat is so thick it takes 4 hours to do a full groom...groan.

I'll have to check that with my x-foster Kobe. Chip was neutered before I got him and has a huge undercoat.... when grooming Kobe I noticed he didn't have much ....now that I had him neutered it will be interesting to see the change. I'll ask his new Mommy. The weather does bring in more fur with this Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr cold !!!

Yes, same for all my male and female Newf's. Dealer was nuetered at 6 years, Solo at about 7 (he has many little solo's running around...heehee), Dilon at 4...I think he's 4...I can't even remember how old I am.
I've had Dilon for 2 years and he has had a beautiful coat. Even the breeder hesitates before nuetering and will usually leave her males & females intact (unless health problems or going to a new home)

Me too...I love Goldens, we have many Golden's that come in for grooming. It's unbelievable how how each kennel has their own "unique" look. Some Goldens have barely any coat - they come from hunting lines. Some with huge coats, some wispy, and we get a couple of Goldens in at the boarding kennel that my friend shows for a kennel down the States. They are gorgeus.

I'll have to ask her the kennel name, see if you know them. I think they are from conneticut...I think. My friend will get their Canadian championships then send them back.
