Top 5 favorite pets

So what are your top five favorite pets of all time? Even if you just like dogs, is there any other animal you are interested in? Please share! (Also, just species, please. No specific breeds)

#1 Dog (surprise surprise)

Dogs are amazing companions. I love them because they are a "go everywhere, do anything" pet. I don't think much needs to be said about them here
#2 Rat

I have found that rats are nothing but miniature dogs. My boy, Brutus (pictured above) behaves just like my two dogs. He greets me when I walk into my room, wags his tail when happy, learns tricks with ease, cuddles with me, walks on a leash, and is content only when by my side. They are nothing like other rodents.

#3 Cat

I looove kitties. People say that they have no personality; I have found this to be simple lack of observation. My four cats each have their own distinct personality. JJ is the mama's boy, Bella is the princess, Chloe is the smart one, and Toby (the one in the picture) is the "dumb but lovable" jock.

#4 Horse

My mom's horse, Juliet, is the picture. I couldn't find a good pic of my horse, Romeo. Horses are fantastic. Fun to ride, affectionate, intelligent. What's not to love? Nothing is more relaxing after a hard day than riding Romeo out into the back cow pasture bareback and watching the sunset. He has become one of my best friends

#5 Ferret

I've yet to own one of these, but they are on my "want" list. From what I've heard, ferrets are just as interactive as rats, but more cat like than dog like. There's a ferret rescue a few hours away, and I plan to visit it soon to get a first-hand interaction with ferrets.

Whats not to love? In my opinion, the perfect pet. they come in all shapes, sizes, and colors and love you unconditionally

2. Ferret
like puppies..forever. Curious, loving, playful. Cool cages, trouble makers, always making you laugh

3. Parrots.
Amazingly intelligent, high maintenance, loving, talking, squaking, great pets. When i went to australia and saw some birds in the wild, i realized that i didnt want a pet bird anymore if i couldnt afford the absolute biggest and best everything for them. but they are one of my favorite "pets".

4. Cats
I like cats, great low maintenance pet. if your not home much, get 2. get a litter box, food, and you have a cuddly meow companion

5. Hamsters
they are a great pet for some people. some liked to be picked up, some dont, but they are very entertaining, cheap to keep, and very cute. plus their cages are fun to build

The more i hear people talk about rats.. the more i want one. i just cant get over the tail!

17 dogs , 4 horses and one pony , 4 cats , 5 turtles , 6 bunnies, 2 birds , 5 pigeons , 2 hamsters , 3 Raccoons plus whatever else the kids or dogs brought home ! My Goldens would be my top 5 .

I'll stick with the dog-rat-cat order... and those are really the only pets I've had lol so I don't know about anything else. I've had hamsters but I don't know if I really liked 'em enough to put in my top 5.

1. Doggieees!
There are no words to express how much happiness my dogs, past and present, have brought to my life.

2. Bettas
My Bettas are all very special to me... they are not "just fish", they have personality, individual quirks, and they are a constant source of calm and peacefulness. This is my favorite Betta, my first show/breeding Betta, and the prettiest boy ever, Maui. The second picture is a bunch of juveniles, Maui's babies. The third is another of my favorites, Guava, a lime green & yellow Double Tail Plakat.

3. Bunnies
I love bunnnns. I would like to have one now, but alas, Gonzo fixates on them and I feel it's best for both him and the bunny to wait. This was my last bunny, Munch. He was a major PITA, but also so much fun and so cuddly. (ew, bad picture!)

4. Cats
I love cats... but I'm not a cat person. I might have a cat in the future, if I can find a "dog" enough cat. My family cat, Lola, is a really fun, sweet, friendly cat. The second is her and puppy Fozzie wrestling.

5. Ferrets
If ferrets were legal in California, I would probably get a pair. I (well, my sister) had 2 ferrets that were acquired from a very neglectful friend. They used to LOVE romping around the backyard on harnesses and long lines. Gonzo would keep them in the grass and poke them angrily when they dumped his water dish over. They get into incredible amounts of trouble unsupervised, though. From dismembering baby bearded dragons, to escaping the backyard (thank GOD Gonzo alerted me to it), to escaping through the dryer vent, they kept us on our toes!

I'm actually really picky about pets... so my list is really short. I love all animals... but there are more that I'd rather admire from afar than own.

Really, I'm just a dog person. I like rodents but not nearly to the same extent that I like dogs. I probably won't have another chin after Scout. I'd rather just have more dogs.
