Top 10 breeds

Staffordshire Bull Terrier
American Pit Bull Terrier
Rottie
American Bulldog
Boston Terrier
GSD
BoelBoer
Patterdale Terrier
Saint Bernard
Cane Corso

3 dogs I would not own

Border Collies, because to me they are not a pet and make wonderful working dogs and plus I would not have the time to forfill thier high demands of exercise, its not that I do not like the breed as I have worked with many as I used to train basic agility, but ive seen enough to know they would not suit what I want in a dog.

British Bulldog, for health reason alone, I cannot support the breeding of these dogs, poor animals, once a powerful athetlic breed, now a cripple...

Shar Pei again a ball of health problems

1. Yorkie
2. Poodle
3. Pap.
4. Chi. (Long Haired)
5. Doxie (Long Haired)
6. Maltese
7. Italian Greyhound

If I ever moved out of the city and had a fenced yard I would like:

1. Aussie
2. Greyhound
3. Shiba Inu

I refuse to state a dog I would not have. sorry.
I will also say some of these are based only on a limited knowledge of the breed and I would need to do some more research on some of them before actually owning one.

2.Bull Terriers
3.Saint Bernards
4.Anatolian Shepherds
5.Chihuahua
6.Dobermans
7.Rotties

And of course, Mutts. Which will probably be the only dog I own from now on.

Breeds I wouldn't own:
APBT
Mastiffs
Huskies
American Bulldog (Actually, probably any bulldog)
Poodles, Shih-tzus, Maltese, any other small fluffy "Foo Foo" dog.

Top 10 breeds that I'd own now or in the future. After border Collie, they're really not in order.

1. Papillon and Phalene (surprised you there!)
2. Sheltie - I'm getting sheltie blues again, good chance my next dog will be another sheltie considering the housing plans so far.
3. Border Collie- hopefully will end up with one soonish. I've just got to get in the right point in my life to take one on.
4. Pyrenean Shepherd
5. Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever
6. Kooikerhondje
7. Australian Shepherd
8. German Shepherd
9. Belgian Tervuren
10. Mudi

Other breeds- I'd also not oppose a farm collie or English Shepherd and some sporting breeds like spaniels and setters. Some of the spitz as well... Eventually I'd like a guardian breed of some sort, but not until the far far future.

If I say what I wouldn't own, I'm sure I'll end up stuck with one, lol. I would probably take any dog that came to me. I'm a sucker like that. Most breeds I thought I really didn't like, I've come to a point where I can appreciate them for what they are... even if they're not what I'd generally pick out. You can see where my loyalties lie- I obviously have a fondness for the herding group. :p

Lakeland Terrier, Smooth Fox Terrier, Kooiker, Toller, Shire, Border Collie, Papillon, Laekenois, Tibetan Spaniel (and Terrier), Westie, and miniature wiredhaired Dachshund. More than 10, but oh well.

Three breeds I wouldn't own? Can't really say, I never thought I would own anything but a terrier, and now I'll be bringing a Pap home with me next year :lol-sign:

Should I warn you that most people don't keep just one long? :lol-sign:

I am an apartment dweller in a downtown city location and own a toller quite easily. As a matter of fact, there are 5 other tollers in my immediate area. I can't speak for all tollers, but from what I've seen, there shouldn't be much of an issue owning one in a city. :)

Currently I'd own any breed, minus the hound group (can never say never though). If I were to get another dog today, it'd probably be something or other from a shelter seeing as I have little preference for any breed right now.

Its actually more of an issue with finding an apartment. Most of the nice buildings around here impose a 25 pound limit on dogs which would make it very difficult for me to find a place to live with a dog bigger than that.

There are so many dog runs and parks around here that exercise isnt a problem just an issue of where to live.

If I was picking a dog solely based on looks it would be a toller... they are BEAUTIFUL.

1. Boston Terrier
2. French Bulldog
3. APBT
4. American Staffordshire Terrier
5. Boxer
6. Staffordshire Bull Terrier
8. Doberman
9. Rottweiler
10. Newfoundland

There aren't any breeds that I wouldn't want to own. There are a few that probably wouldn't work in my lifestyle though which is sad because I think they are beautiful breeds.

1. Husky--big exercise demand
2. Border Collie--need a job to do

I have to think in terms of what sort of dog I'd like at what point in my life. Right now, I have a best friend dog, so he's a

1. Pembroke Welsh Corgi

I hope to be getting a gun dog in a year or so, and the ones I like the best are, in order

2. Wirehaired Pointing Griffon
3. Pointer
4. Spinone
5. Bracco

Two breeds I love solely of their looks are,

6. Wire Fox terrier
7. Harrier

And when I'm an old man, I know I want small dogs, and I love

8. Poms
9. Dachshunds
10. Cotons

As for ones I wouldn't want...I don't know if I would want a heartbreak breed, a giant breed. Dogs with low life expectancies would be tough to own, Newfs, St Bernards, Irish Wolfhounds...although I think they're all great, but not ones I'd want to own.

These are in random order.

1. Border Collie (okay, that one really IS first :p)
2. Aussie - I'd love to try this breed one day.
3. Toller - another breed I'd love to try someday.
4. Dobie (darn dobie people! You've made me catch THE bug!)
5. Newfoundland (I would like to own a giant breed and I love newfies)
6. Papillon
7. Brittany

Thats all I can think of right now.

I won't say I will never own a type of breed, but I wouldn't go searching out any Hound or Bully breeds.

My top 10, in no particular order other than the first one:

1. Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever
2. Border Collie
3. Belgian Shepherds (all of them)
4. English Shepherd
5. Doberman
6. Mudi
7. Australian Shepherd
8. Kooikerhondje
9. Dalmatian
10. Leonberger

Breeds I wouldn't own, I have no idea. Definitely no Boxers, because their energy is different from other high energy breeds (in my experience) and they're just not the breed for me because of it. Aside from them, I wouldn't seek out most breeds aside from what's on my top 10 list, but there aren't many breeds that I'm totally opposed to having.

1. Border Collie
2. Australian Kelpie
3. Great Dane
4. Pug
5. Greyhound
6. Koolie
7. Pyrenean Shepherd
8. Bullmastiff
9. Greater Swiss Mountain Dog
10. German Shorthaired Pointer

Three I don't plan on owning

1. Huskies or Mal's. I think Mal's are absolutley stunning but I just couldn't handle a dog with that attitude. I respect them for what they are and we wouldn't fit.
2. ACD. After spending time with Harry I see what they can really be like, he's is amazingly devoted to his family but so so smart with his "whats in it for me" attitude and stubborness. But I don't know, he is a very special dog, maybe one day when I have more dog experience I'll be happy to take one on, but until then, I'll play it safe.
3. Golden Retriever. I'm starting to kinda fall for some of the feild type labs I've seen recently, goldens just still don't appeal to me.
