I was feeding my dog Jack, "Chicken soup for Puppy lover's" when he started to seem disinterested and developed loose stool. I was in the process of switching him over to the 'Taste of the Wild' when he started to really not act like himself. He became lathargic, and wanted just to lay on you. I took him to the vet and she said he probably had a digestive virus and put him on meds. She told me to feed him boiled chicken and rice for three days until he settles down. His demeanor did a 180 in no time but he was constipated. Oh, I also mentioned the food transition to the vet who said it may or may not be a factor. I put him back on TOTW and he was getting loose stool and lethargic again (not mention not wanting to eat it!) So I transitioned him over to Natural Balance because I was told it was good for sensitive dogs. Now he has diareha:(, I don't know what to do. It's only been a couple of days but the poor guy's stomach has been through a lot. I've read posts on sensitive stomachs and I am thinking about mixing some canned pumpkin in with his kibble. Should I stick with this? I don't want anymore significant changes right now unless it's neccessary, I really just want his tummy to feel better. How long should we ride this out? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I think changing back and forth between the foods may be giving him the runs as his body gets used to new ones. Try sticking with one brand for now. Also, you can give him some of the plain canned pumpkin to get his system straightened out. My dogs will actually eat some of the pumpkin if I just put it in a dish for them.
