Everyone, what is your opinion... Should I keep my doggy without neuterizing her? Maybe make puppies and do it some years later? The Vet scared me with all this facts about cancer and other deceases that she might get without getting spayed. Help me out... Need some ideas.

it depends if you want to try and keep doggy diapers on her when she bleeds. lol but if you are thinking of showing her or something like that with the akc you might not want to spay her. well thats my opinion.

if you are not wanting to bred from her, your better off getting her spayed, the vets right a ***** that is not spayed has a highter chance of developing mammary cancers, and ovarian cancer, both not nice, the other problem they can get is what we call a pyometra which means a uterus infection, makes them very sick and can sometimes kill them, 99.9% of cases with pyometra to cure it need to be spayed anyway. Im not trying to scare you, just let you know the facts, I see older bitches come in to our clinic which all these problems all the time. Bottom line get them spayed at 6 months old before any problems come up. One other thing it doesnt make any difference to the dog whether or not they have a litter of pups or not. It doesnt change their personality or quieten them down like some people think. :)

Please, please, DON'T BREED unless you are very serious and are breeding from impeccable lines to improve the breed.

You'll avoid problems if you go ahead and spay as your vet recommends.

I would go ahead and spay. PLEASE spay your dog unless your dog is breeding quality and you know what you are doing. It will keep your dog healthier by spaying and it will prevent unwanted litters in the future.

I agree wholeheartedly - unless your pup is an excellent representation of her breed and has passed all the medical testing & proven herself in conformation, temperment, etc. do not breed her. Have her spayed - it is the healthiest choice. :)

Thank You!

THANK YOU, everyone for your advices. We will discuss it for another week with my husband, but we are leaning towards spaying. :p

Here's something that might help you with your decision: one of our members who is an extremely experienced and knowledgeable breeder just went through the heartbreak of losing an entire litter - and the mother.
