I love them. :D My boyfriend and I used to go out during the monsoons here and just stand in the rain, watching the lightning.
On the ranch, I would always climb to the highest room in the house, it was more or less made entirely out of glass, like one giant skylight. I'd open the windows and just sit and watch/listen. I've loved them ever since.

I used to love them a lot more when every single thundestorm didn't mean hail and tornadoes. It's so very rare we have those gentle summer storms that are neat to walk around in outside, or sit on the porch with something to drink just watching and listening.

Now it's all "TAKE COVER ASAP!"

I love them though I do get some anxiety during heavy rain and wind as we have a couple huge old trees in our yard. Many times my wife and I will go out into the garage, open the door, and sit in lawn chairs and watch the light show.

The most awesome spectacle I ever saw was on a plane flying into Dallas. There was a huge storm and we flew around it- it was so cool watching the lightning jumping around inside the cloud. A completely different perspective than what you see on the ground.

...come live down here for a few months and then tell me this again. I don't think you get too many up there.

LoL, where I live it's almost always "TAKE COVER ASAP"! But I still love to watch them. You don't dare go outside to watch, but it's neat to stand at the window and take it all in.

I love thunderstorms.

Fuzzy's still terrified of them though, so I always wind up
with a shaking dog in my lap.

The other night there was a storm while i was out and when
i came home he was cowering in the bathtub and it appears he had
even tried to pull the bathmat in with him to hide under.

I felt bad for him, but it still cracked me up.

LOVE them. Probably because I used to be terrified when I was little - so now I see their power and beauty :D :D

Whatching them is fun but I could do with out the poweroutages we get just about everytime we have a big storm. Sitting on the porch in NC during a big storm is much nicer than the storms we get up here.

absolutely love them but that is because we very rarely get them so when we do its a giant thrill.. my ideal holiday would be going storm chasing.
