So, hubby and I couldn't agree on whether we should get a puppy. We both had good points. So we compromised and decided to foster instead. Here is The Governor. He is a great little pup. Seriously.
Also, having a 7 year old dog, a 10 month old baby and a pup is an interesting experiment. lol
It's not as bad as I thought I would be! It would be easier if the baby wasn't so clingy and also so busy and if we had less snow and warmer temperatures. If it were summer, it would be a breeze to have both! But we have about 3-4' of snow in my yard and it's been pretty cold and the pup only wants to be out long enough to potty.
The only difficult part is teaching the pup to be calm and gentle with her when she's crawling. He wants to bite her feet and ears. So we are mostly keeping them somewhat separate (when he's wound up, she's in her high chair or I'll hold her until he's calm and then they can be on the floor together with supervision).
Gov was abnormally quiet yesterday. Then started retching. Then was flat. Took him to the vet in town last night, gave him barium in case of gastroenteritis or foreign body.
He was still flat this morning. Took him to the clinic from which I am currently on maternity leave. Tested positive for parvo.
If you can't donate, could you please share his chip in page?
Yes, they do and he's being treated. But this will eat up a lot of the budget. We have to fly almost every dog in the rescue out of Ontario. It ain't cheap.
