Does anyone here celebrate this day? We've never celebrate it, but my kids have the day off from school for it. This is the first year that they've closed the public schools and only my City is doing it.
I've read up on it and my kids have told me that the day represents the Three Wise Men arriving to see baby Jesus and bringing gold, frankincense and myrrh. Tradition is to mark your door with the letters CMB (the Three Wise Men) and waving herbal incense over the doorway to ward off evil spirits. Its pretty interesting and I never heard of it. I do know about the Three Wise Men, but never the holiday and how other nationalities celebrate it.
