Guys I'm in tears. I am so worried. It happened again - grandpa had another stroke. This is the second time in the past month.

I am so freaking scared and worried. He is 90 years old - just celebrated March 25th.

I got off work at 1:30 and went shopping for a few doggie friends and for the Muttlies - got a message on our answering machine from 2:00 that he had a stroke.

I said it already but I am scared. Mostly scared for my mother who lost her mother 25 years ago. I can't imagine.

Please think of my grandfather, Jim, and for the rest of us too.....

Thank you,
Kay
:(

*edit* We're heading down there now. He lives 2 hours away.
My parents asked if I wanted to go with them and I said of course. I hate to think about it but he's 90 years old and if I don't go this time......?
-sigh-
It freaks me out. My co-worker lost her father the same day my grandpa had his first stroke. Then the same time today when my grandma left the message, my co-worker broke down crying at work with something that reminded her of her dad.

I don't know if he actually had a stroke at home or if it was on the way. I don't know all that's going on yet..
My grandma just said on the phone when I was talking to her that had had a horrible chest pain and migrated down his body and one of his arms was motionless like before.

She really didn't know much either.
Last time he actually had a TIA - not a full blown stroke.

They probably got him there pretty quickly then since he was not alone. Stroke treatment has come such a long way and i feel like the world of medicine deserves a thousand pats on the back for that. I worked in a nursing home and many of the people i assisted were stroke victims. Now if the patient gets there quickly there is hope for a full recovery. I hope that is the case here, will have him in my thoughts and prayers.

This is such a hard time for you and the family ! I do hope the out come will be good for you. Please don't take this wrong.. ( my age is speaking ) If I had a stroke that would leave me completely helpless and a burden to my family, I'd rather be dead. I've seen strokes at his age go both ways... good partial recovery or extreme disability. My neighbor was completely paralyzed on one side.. but got along great with her " good " side and loved life.Accept the results and move on. You sound like a very caring grand daughter and a special candle will be lit tonight for you and yours. Please let us know. Hugs and prayers .
