Cigarettes and Alcohol kill more people in one year, then pot will kill in 100 years... Yes, I just made that up... but it's probably close to true... LOL

Seriously, the issue isn't if he smoked pot or not... Hell, Clinton admitted it and no one tried to arrest him.

As a parent I'd rather my kid look up to Michael Phelps and his bong, then 99% of the players in the NBA or NFL.

I mean there are people who father 9 kids with 9 different women, all out of wedlock and it's no big deal. Skip out on alimony or child support, no problem.... Bust a woman in the eye, no sweat!

But alas, enjoy a bong toke after just becoming the greatest Olympian of all time and now your a bad role model.... PUHLEASE!

Worth repeating :hail:

Hmm, I laughed when I first saw that photo for the first time. He can do it all he wants for all I care, but to let someone take a photo of you might not be the best idea. I used to smoke weed far too often and I never let a photo be taken of me, I just don't need hard proof that I did it incase something ever happens.

I do think it should be legal but it has been linked to triggering schizophrenia and depression and such and I think EVERYONE should be aware of this.

i'm a bit jaded. my best friend in college killed himself by "innocently" smoking a joint. he bought it off a "good friend", it was laced with pcp, he ran head first into a ups truck. the worst part was i saw it all happen from my dorm room. so i guess it's no big deal if something like this hasn't happened to you, but i've seen the worst of it.

People put date rape drugs in alcohol and then rape women. Should alcohol be banned because of that? (Oh wait, they tried that, it didn't work).

I think pot should be legalized.

I'm with legalization, or at least decriminalization. If that were the case, there'd be a lot less risk of contamination.

I don't really approve of pot. On the other hand, I approve of the outrageous cost of the drug war, not to mention the incredible damage it has done to civil liberties a great deal more.

you mean like how tabacco companies standardized the addiction of cigarettes? see, i told you i was jaded.
And everyone who picks up a cigarette knows that they are addictive--it's not some big tobacco company secret. If someone chooses to begin smoking they know what they are getting into.

Yes, tobacco companies market a product that if used long term could very likely kill you. However, so does McDonald's and Burger King. As a matter of fact, considering that the leading causes of death in the US are all related to/caused by obesity, I would say that those companies that produce and market sugary, salty, fatty have been indirectly responsible for more deaths than cigarettes and pot combined.

Honestly, the fact that pot is still illegal boggles my mind. I had/have alcoholics in my family and had close friends with parents or spouses that are alcoholics. The damage that alcohol (which *is* a drug) can do to a person's life and family is astounding, yet the press is getting their knickers in a twist over some pot......it's a silly world we live in....
