Not having enjoyment in anything sucks.

I use to love babysitting,& just being with kids in general. I went to a football party,& all I wanted to do was go home,& sleep. I even had one of them ask me why I'm not playing with them. It's not that I don't want to, it's that I have no interested whatsoever.

That's why I often try not to do anything too much that I enjoy, for the fear that I burn myself out on it. I've done it in the past, and it's just no fun. So you're not alone. :)

Michael leaves the 7th for 7-8 months. Deployment, round two, here we go. He'll be in Spain, then Africa, with little to no communication the entire time outside of email. At this point he doesn't even know if skyping will be an option.

Vibes for strength and safe journeys for us both? And that the time goes quickly. Ugh. Not really ready for this again. But suppose I'm as ready as I'll ever be!

I understand, a lot of the stuff I used to enjoy, I dont anymore. Like ... I used to enjoy just getting out and going places, not I just ... dont. About the only thing I do enjoy is agility ... and the dogs.

My feelings are all sorts of shattered over the events of my weekend, and even though it happened a few days ago I can't stop feeling anxiety about the kind of social interaction I was a part of.

How do you guys push something crappy out of your mind?

Also, how do you avoid further exacerbating a muscle tear or cracked rib? I have a very physical job and no option to go to the hospital to get pain pills, but for the past five days I've been feeling a lot of pain with deep breaths, bending down or stretching. Determined it's not heart/lung related on my own, definitely must be skeletal or muscular, but I don't know what exactly it is and I can't afford a hospital trip... advice appreciated. Stayed away from pain pills so that I don't unknowingly make things worse, but it's painful enough that I'm on the verge of tears at work.

I just... Feel like going to sleep,& never waking up again.

Something happened, & I feel like complete sh*t. I thought this wasn't going to happen, but...My parents said it was,& that it's going to happen. No matter what.

All these regrets. What ifs. What if I did that. Or this. Maybe it could of been prevented. I hate myself beyond belief right now.

Really great friend just died, and I'm across the country :( he was the guy that owned bear, and swagger still lives there in PA. It's really a hard pill to swallow - I know I've mentioned Andy a few times here over the years, he was just the greatest guy. And such an awesome houndsman. Reminded me on more than one occasion that not every guy out there with a bunch of hunting hounds treats them like machines - Andy treated his like kids. I thought I'd never see a pack of beagles that listened off leash and were both kennel quiet and housebroken. I feel like I learned a lot about hound dogs from him. *sigh*

That's weird.. it must haven stayed dormant for a really long time. Not much you can do after it makes an appearance. Buy Abreva or the cold sore patches. The patches are my favourite because they take the pain out of them.

Something like 70% of the population has cold sores, or HSV1. It's the oral version of herpes (the other version is HSV2, and can be anywhere, but is usually associated with genital herpes). You probably never HAD the virus, and recently caught it from kissing or eating after someone. It's also possible that you had it as a child, and your immune system kept outbreaks in check for a few decades, but something strained it, and now you're showing symptoms.

There are tons of meds to treat the symptoms, but there are also suppressants you can get with a prescription.

This is why I don't drink after people.. That and general paranoia over hygiene.

When all was said & done, over the course of 10 days, I worked 9 of them, logging 10+ hours a day, except for the weekends, which were half days at 5.5 hours each. Yay for the new year!!
I haven't had a day off in two weeks, so I asked for a little chunk of time off this week. Got Wednesday through Friday off- or so I thought. Shelter night is Wednesday, I work my other job Thursday morning, and now I'm hosting a Mean Girls quote along at work that night. Not TECHNICALLY work, but what happened to my days off? :p
