The Venting Thread

Le sigh.
I thought my tailbone was feeling better...no, no it is not. I know where it is hurting (top part of my butt), because if I put pressure there it feels so much better. I've done various stretches and movements to see if I could pinpoint what motion made it hurt, and I think I may have done something jogging, because range of motion is fine, but when I go to run it throbs.
Doesn't hurt once I get moving. Doesn't really hurt when I'm stationary, either, besides a constant pressure. But if I've remained stationary for awhile, no matter the position, and go to move? Holy Jesus, I better not just get up quickly or it THROBS. And not only does it throb, it climbs up my spine and into my head and it POUNDS. Once I walk it off, no issue. If I take my time and gradually switch positions it's fine.
Bleh. Looks like a doctor visit may be happening next week if we don't end up going out of town. I really wanted it to just go away on its own.

This morning I was looking at the Dear World Boston Marathon project, and while reading what the victims had to say one of them quoted the serenity prayer. And what stuck out to me more than anything was the bit about the courage to change the things we can.

It's snowing. Again. It's April and it's snowing, up to 15cm...oh and one highway out of town is already closed and who knows how long the other will remain open so unless we can leave like RIGHT now, no agility trial for me this weekend 
I would die, lol. It was 80 today, supposed to be 85 the next two days
But that really, really sucks about the road being closed

I NEVER thought those huge threads would unfold into what they have now. People post BIG NEWS in them and I'm like, give it it's own thread
ON THE OTHER HAND, I see wanting to post in there instead of having a thread with 0 replies.
The root of the problem IMO is the loss of the quick reply button and the security questions.
honestly, I'd take the spam back 100% if it means reviving the conversations going on in chaz.
I've been guilty of it too but when it's takes 5 steps to post (including a **** math question)...it just takes too much TIME.
I mean sure it cut the spam down but at what cost.
WHY CANT NEW USERS' POSTS JUST BE MODERATED? AND THEN BRING THE QUICK REPLY BUTTON BACK AND DITCH THE SECURITY QUESTIONS FOR THE REST OF US
new users are being moderated anyway!
It's such a first world problem but sometimes I honestly feel like the only reason I come here is out of habit.
Or instead of having the constant stream of "owners" and new servers, open expenses of running chaz to members like other forums do (for gold status or tshirts or calendars or w/e)

I don't think the quick reply and questions are really the reason. There certainly is no shortage of posts and replies in the big threads and they require the same action.
I think tht most people don't want to post individually so as not to seem like their problem is bigger or worse and vice versa

I thought my leave of absence for school this summer was a guarantee. Given I've been there for nearly 8 years, and that the new kid was approved for an LOA to go work in Alberta for the summer.
But my boss approached me this morning and told me that the new store manager has decided that she "doesn't like" giving LOAs and thinks everyone should just quit and come back when they want.
Yeah. Because I want to start back on the bottom. -_-

Hard to say what the problem is, I don't find Random Questions very time consuming, you literally only have to enter a few extra characters before you post. But there does seem to have been a drop in posting, and I don't think it's all because of the big threads. Fran's right, when I post stuff in either it's almost always stuff I wouldn't have made a thread for anyways because it would be ignored. I also miss Quick Reply. There's a reason reddit has a similar feature--it boosts conversation.
I think getting rid of the questions and adding some new spam-only mods is a good way to start. Seriously, we have so many long-term and (I think) trustworthy members here that I'm sure we could get a team going that promised only to handle spam (or if possible just restrict mod responsibilities to post deletion only).
I mean, the list of current mods:
Zoom, Gempress, smkie, Renee750il, filarotten, Buckshot, dr2little, Buddy'sParents, RD, ACooper, eddieq, Baxter'smybaby, chazhound
The majority of them have been totally MIA for months or years. Which, hey, nothing personal, it ain't like they're paid lol, but if there were some active anti-spam members we might not need Random Questions and posting might pick up again.
