OMG. I was out shopping all evening so I didn't even know until I logged on here. Having a really hard time processing that he's dead. Just wow. =< So sad...

Starting tomorrow, I'm going to have to make some serious adjustments to my eating habits. I was a bit conscientious of what I was eating today and thus didn't have my "dessert" like I normally do after lunch :)o). Even then, I'm now at home and just had some leftovers for dinner and am only 170cal short of my calorie max and I'm still hungry. I know calorie guides are a guideline and nutrition is just as important as calories, but dang. Had I eaten how I normally would have today I would be WAY over calorie limit. And probably fat limit.
Fat does not actually make you fat the way people think. My fat macro is pretty high since I'm mostly primal... carbs are low since I don't eat much grain nor fruits that are really high in carbs. Fat plays a big role in our satiety feelings too. This is actually part of why some people who go paleo have major trouble eating enough calories - your gut gets full with veggies (physical bulk) and meat (fat triggering your satiety mechanism) and you don't feel as hungry.
(I am not, by the way, advocating paleo or primal as a weight loss diet, just using it as an example.)

There are two ways to approach a caloric deficit. You can try to dial it back in smaller increments at first, 100-200 calories per week, so you don't have that "OMG I AM STARVING" from going on a steep cut right away. Or you can go big cut and just tough it out. It's kind of like quitting smoking... some people are successful going cold turkey, some people prefer to just wean themselves off slowly. Different people work in different ways so it's just up to you and your individual personality to know what will work best for you. I'm a go-all-in kind of person myself but I know people who do much better with the slower approach. It's really all about what will work best for YOU since it's YOUR body in question!

Are you using MFP?

I'm going cold turkey. It honestly isn't that bad. I'm just being a baby. It's going to make me watch portion control, mindless snacking, and "oh-so-good-but-not-needed" foods, which is what I really need. And to avoid mindless snacking, I have a feeling I'll be drinking more water, which will also be good, as I'm pretty sure I live in a chronic state of mild dehydration.

I definitely don't plan on cutting out fatty foods/etc. I just need to be more mindful of what I'm actually putting in my body, and what may be a much better, healthier alternative. Not so much dieting as...trying to create better eating habits.

And yes, MFP. Figured it was a good place to start, then adjust accordingly. Have three coworkers using it, too, so they can keep me motivated!

My computer just wiped out my SD card.

I had about 35 great engagement photos of my friend I took yesterday on there that I was about to edit.

****. I really hope to God we backed them up on her flash drive.

I'm so sad about Robin Williams, especially considering the manner of death. He literally has access to all the help money can buy, but still could find his way out of that hopelessness. Thoughts and prayers to his family.
It's so, so sad. I can't believe this happened.

That's what depression does, unfortunately. Depression is horrible,& so sad to see him struggle with it. May he rest in peace. He was such inspiration. He was my childhood.

You can usually recover those using free programs.

Just don't shoot anything on that card until you give it a try.

We had a surgery at work today that ended with the dog needing to be euthanized on the table. Just.... ugh. I don't think any of us at work expected it to go that way... I think we all thought it would either be a successful surgery, or that we simply wouldn't be able to remove the mass. But not this. Probably the owners weren't expecting it either :(

Two years ago my Izze died suddenly on the table while being prepped for surgery of a pulmonary embolism, the staff and the vet were stunned and very upset. They even put together a gift basket for me, they were awesome and even cried with me.

I think people sometimes forget that vets and vet techs are human too and the death of a pet does effect them.

My heart goes out to the owners, I know the shock and the grief they are probably feeling right now.

Top 5 reasons I should never live alone.

My SO has been gone for only 24 hours and already....

1.) There was an incident of poop-splosion all over the bathroom. And yes, it was Talon who was the culprit.

2.) Talon somehow managed to grab the cap from the cleaning solution container and proceed to run around the house with it.

3.) I am now watching Talon for signs of death. Yes, unlikely, but my paranoid mind has no one here to squash my fears of imminent doom.

4.) The internet has already gone down twice and I had to call the internet company. However, I waited an hour before doing so because talking on the phone is scary. T_T

5.)There was a huge thunder storm and lightning struck the building and caused a power outage.

I think the universe is trying to tell me that I should never live alone again. *cries* This is seriously going to be a tough adjustment period for me.

Made an impulse purchase yesterday. Yes, the item is better than what we had. Yes, the item replaces another thing we had that I wanted to replace down the road. But dammit, it is a luxury and not something that was needed. I have no doubt of the quality or usability of what I bought, but now I feel like a selfish idiot who is living above our means because I bought something that we don't *need*. And it wasn't inexpensive. Ugh. Ugh ugh ugh.

DH was fine with the purchase, but ****. I can't buy anything without feeling horrible after, apparently.

I can't watch anything about Robin Williams without some tears. Too many feels. Trying to hide from the internet doesn't work. I don't busy myself with the lives of celebs, but this feels like a loss for the world, not just hollywood.

Babyblue, I think I live better alone. It's been a year and a half since I moved in with Boyfriend and we are still adjusting to some of the shitty things I do because I'm so used to being on my own, lol.

My latest litter of Guinea Pigs born 2 days ago was just no fun. One still born, and then one only survived one day. Still have one baby who seems to be doing well, so hoping no sudden death for him - as the one who lived only one day was for me, as he seemed healthy and active like his surviving brother. Was really looking forward to this litter and the two that didn't make it were just perfect! The new little one is a change as he seems to have a chocolate color, which I've not seen too much of around here. He's also extremely vocal already! Can't I just get one who doesn't need to scream at me all day!?

I know, I read about it on FB a couple of days ago and was shocked, such a sad, sad terrible loss not only to Hollywood, but the world as well.

I hope he finds some peace, I hear he was struggling with depression.

I was told of Robin Williams passing at work by a customer. The customer told me by saying "Do you know who Robin Williams is? Well apparently he is dead." I assumed it was one of those facebook pranks you see of "dead" celebs, but I looked itup on my lunch and was in complete shock. :( He was my absolute favorite actor ever.

And LOL. You sound like the complete opposite of me right now. :p

This was basically the way I heard. A guest asked me if I had heard about it and said he saw on FB. I said "Oh then it's not true." googled it right there and found it was. I had to then let my coworkers know in passing and working in a theater you could especially hear the sadness ripple through the building.

We had two tributes this week we got on the schedule, The Birdcage and Good Will Hunting, and they nearly sold out instantly.
