Why is it that the nights that I can stay up late, are the nights that I'm exhausted and can hardly keep my eyes open past 10pm.
Come on self, let's just finish the last 8 minutes of this hockey game.. and finish this can of Dr. Pepper.

I feel like an old lady on nights like this. SUCH an old lady. :rofl1:

I had a sore throat last Thurs/Fri, eye ulcer on Saturday, and now a cold. Ugh.

Glad it's not the flu, but my nose is telling me the "lotion" kleenex were lying and that it's mad. I'm going to bed not because I'm tired, but in the hopes that I can ignore my stuffy, runny nose for 8+ hours. :p

Ahhh, an O ring screwed into a stud with a metal leash might work, but if he's a chewer I get it. We don't have room for crates anymore and I hate the jingle and thud of dogs moving in them while I sleep so we chose to bed train at night and I thought I'd suggest it if its not been considered.
I can't screw anything into a stud in this house since we don't own it and are just here temporarily. I could try doing that when we move though since Josh is going to build a bed frame and I could prob attach an O-ring to the bed frame he ends up building. The last one he built was SUPERRRR sturdy. I would have to find a tie that he couldn't chew through though since I'm worried he'd chew. I'd just let them all be loose at night except then they all end up in the bed which irritates my husband because he likes to be able to roll over and move around in his sleep. Hard to do that when you have a pile of dogs on you lol. We usually allow one dog at a time to sleep in the bed, if that.

I use a verbal warning as well. Barking in the crate is not acceptable, period at my house. If it continues I will slap the side of the crate along with a loud Knock it Off. Normally just a Knock it off, stops the barking but I've also been lucky and never had a dog who was truly bad in the crate.

Have you tried an Exercise pen? I suggested this to a client and it worked well for them, the barking and detructiveness that happened in the crate stopped and the dog was much more relaxed in the ex-pen. Maybe the extra room and ability to see more? No idea....but it did work for them. They also gave tons of frozen kongs and RMBs, etc.
I've used a verbal warning and I'll admit I've banged at the crate before when I've been overwhelmed by his whining. I try my best to just ignore it though because I worry that even giving him a verbal warning is still reinforcing the behavior because he's getting some sort of reaction out of me. Maybe if my husband and I wear ear plugs for a little bit he'll eventually stop lol.

I don't know that I can keep him in an X-pen. It might be worth a shot, but then again this dog can easily jump 6 feet without even hardly trying.... **** Ibizan Hounds.... I give him frozen kongs, antlers etc in his crate ONLY. He doesn't get ANY RMBs right now though because he growled and air snapped at me last time when he broke off a piece that I was uneasy with him having and wouldn't drop it or give it to me. So... until we get past that issue no high value bones, etc for him. The antlers he likes to chew, but he has no issues with me taking those from him so I do allow them in his crate only.

I don't know... ignoring never seems to fix crate crying for me...
Me either. Admittedly it's one of the few things that drives me absolutely insane but....I've never been able to fix it in foster dogs. I'm just insanely glad that neither of the girls do it (well Tipper does but it's only when she's amped up and she stops when we tell her to). I don't even try to fix it anymore because it's really not worth me getting really really angry and mad at the dog. >.<

I'm in so much pain, and it's because I'm an idiot.

Socks + stairs + bamboo floors = terrible idea. I hit each stair with my back, and now feel like I was hit by a bus :(

Have you ever tried "putting him to bed" before you and your husband go to bed? When Squash was wee I started doing that just because by 9 pm or so my brain and my Pip needed a break from puppies. He and Maisy sleep in crates that are side by side in our bedroom upstairs, come 9 pm-ish I would put them both to bed with a stuffed Kong. If he whined, honestly I never even knew about it. It just became our routine and now they both get antsy at "bedtime" and run upstairs into their crates.

Now, he was already accustomed to crates before he came home with me and I've never tried it with an adult dog who was already whiny in the crate. For some dogs I suppose it might backfire. But maybe worth a try.

My camera is supposed to be here today. It's 2pm. It is not here.

And I'm really effing hungry. I need to go to the store. And I can't until this camera gets here. Because I'm not leaving a package like that just sitting outside.

But your friendly neighbor will keep an eye on the package for you! He would probably be more than happy to open the package. To make sure there wasn't a bomb or something, of course! :D

You win. All the things. Not sure what you won exactly, but you are winning. So here's a banana in the meantime.

To the people expecting packages from me (a bag, a book, a toy).. I suck.

I went to UPS FOREVER ago to get this stuff sent out. I went by UPS recently to send something else out..and guess what was sitting neatly by my PO box? ALL THE STUFF!!! UGH!!
I was like WTF?!! I sent this out!!
and some glassy eyed teenager told me I didn't sign something correctly and forgot to fill this thing out so they couldn't send anything. Instead of calling my number, which was on the form.. they decided to just leave the packages in my PO box. Perfectly reasonable!!

GRR!! everything is on it's way now!!

Someone in my area has been looking for their tiny little toy poodle. Just recently, there was an ad placed in the paper for a found, small female dog that was found in the same area, the day after the poodle went missing. Being nice, since sometimes people are older and don't understand how to check craigslist, I sent a text noting that, I didn't know if they looked at craigslist, but someone was missing a white poodle in that area and that, if that was the type of dog they found, they might take a peek at the ad. Simple enough, I think.

Instead, they keep sending 'who is this??' texts. Sweet jesus:rolleyes:

I got an interview. I almost cried, this is all I've ever wanted since I was like 5.

And I'm having a really hard time finding someone to work for me. :/
