Hi,

My name is Sami and I'm 28. Graduated college in 03 for english writing/pre law and now I'm in a paralegal program. Speaking of which, I'm putting off doing my probate homework LOL

I grew up with dogs, specifically keeshonden. My mom bought our first dog from a byb who fooled her into thinking it was a show dog...boy were we wrong.

I've been madly researching dogs and finally came across the samoyed. After looking heavily, my brain realized I wasn't ready for that yet plus my financial situation got really tight.

I then fell into cardis. Got lucky and met my breeder at a dog park. Been hooked ever since!!!

Abby is my boyfriend's dog. She's a rescue and unfortunately as much as I do love Abby we aren't a good fit as far as me being an owner of hers. One of the reasons I'm on here is to listen to people who have similar dogs and to find a way to communicate better with Abby so that we can have a better relationship.

Mr. Meowgi is my Maine Coon mix. He's freakin' huge, although I don't think that the pictures I have of him do him justice. He's furry and lovely and like a big kitty muppet. He's also very talkative and dog-like for a cat.

He sleeps with me and comes when called, which frankly is more then our current dog does LOL!

Harper is our coming edition and the bf and I are both very excited. We feel that we have prepared as much as we can. She's the progeny of two drivey performance dogs who are also both conformation champions. I'm hoping she'll be a fiesty full throttle girl, and I think she'll def. live up to that from what I've heard.

Harper's kennel name is Welshclan's Arwen Ariana. I'm hoping to title her on both ends and am excited to have Harper as my first performance dog.

As for the rest of it, my boyfriend is a fantastic guy and we live happily together and have a very boring drama free life. :)

Great idea, Crios!

My name is Cynthia. You can call me by name, or just Max/Maxfox is fine, too. :) I'm 25 years old and married (my husband is Muju on the forum). I graduated with a degree in Music Education, but I currently work in an instrument repair shop doing customer service and odd jobs. While I don't teach full time, my in-laws are both band directors, so I still get to do a lot of small ensemble and private teaching through their programs, which I enjoy a lot.

Mostly, I love animals. However, I do have some other interests, such as photography, art, archery & rifle sports, knitting/crochet, waterskiing, and music (of course). I also run a small dog collar business called Morgan Collars. You can find more info on that through the link in my siggy. :)

Now to the good stuff, my PETS!! :D

First, I have one dog. His name is Morgan, and he's a 2-year old lab mix. We got him from the shelter when he was 10 weeks old. He's eager to please, which is fun. I take him to band camp every year, and he has learned a few tricks that impress the students/parents that are there. He knows to step off with his left foot, and he likes to sing in rehearsal. I'm hoping to sign him up for beginner agility this spring... I've never done any dog sports before, but I think he would really enjoy it. He can be a little block-headed and stubborn at times, but I love him anyways. For the most part, he is my perfect dog.

Morgan and I (when he was about a year old)

Morgan at his second birthday in November

I also have two cats, Whitacre and Ticheli, also known as The Kitty-Boy Brothers. They are about 3.5 years old now, 14-16lbs, and too smart for their own good. We have a strong suspicion that there is some Bengal mixed in them somewhere, but since they were also adopted from the shelter we will probably never know for sure. They are very doglike, so I taught them a few tricks (sit, shake, rollover, and beg), which they love to perform. Ticheli (gray one) is often referred to as our Evil Genius, as there is literally nothing that can stop him from what he wants. Sometimes, I swear that cat has figured out how to levitate. He once pulled down a potted plant that was hanging from the ceiling. Whitacre (brown one) is more of a cuddler, will often cry if he finds himself alone in the room, and has a tendency to drool when he's happy.

In addition, we have four sugar gliders (Teller, Elphaba, Fiyero, and Glinda) and a corn snake (Reggie). If you want to see pictures, let me know. :p I don't don't want to overload this thread! Actually, in the next few weeks I will have two more corn snakes that I won from a breeder in a holiday photo contest, and I'm on the waiting list for a fourth with another breeder this summer.

I used to have pet rats in the past, and I probably will again, but I decided that I needed to take a few years off. I've been ratless for almost a full year now. It's weird.

What else...

Oh, I'm obsessed with foxes. And plush toys. But mostly foxes... as plush toys. :lol-sign: My recent project has been to collect Fantastic Mr. Fox McDonalds toys on eBay from the UK. I have 5 out of 8 so far. :p

I'm probably forgetting things about myself, but that's kind of how I am, too. ;)

Hi!
I'm Stacey. I have 2 Giant Schnauzers....4 year old Eika and 8 month old Gunnar. Eika currently competes in Flyball. She's also in training for Agility and will compete in her first Disc Dog event next weekend! Gunnar is in training for Flyball. I haven't decided what else I'd like to do with him. He's a bit too big and clumsy for agility and disc dog. :lol-sign: But he does love to work!

I'm honestly not very good at it... I kinda "freestyle" knit/crochet. I never learned to read patterns, so I tend to make up my projects as I go. :p I make a lot of scarves and blocky-shaped stuffed toys. LOL!

Hi!

Im Elissa... Im 23, live in Manhattan, and am just finishing up my law degree and sitting for the bar in July. After that I may end up anywhere, so watch out Chazzers everywhere.

I have two yorkies: Armani & Chloe because "sometimes designer really is better!"
They are 2.5 and 10 months old and I adore them!

I am horrible at talking about myself... I need specific questions to answer, haha!

thats how Iam....

ok, why poodlemommy? I assume there were poodles at one point?
When I joined Chaz I was still in College, living near home and considered my parents dogs mine as well... they are both toy poodles Elle & Bella. I still see them and would do anything for them, they sometimes make cameos in my pic/threads here. The moral of the story is not to dedicate yourself to one breed in your username :lol-sign:

When I moved away and got dogs of my own I ended up with yorkies and while I would still love to have a poodle someday, Chaz has opened my eyes to so many other breeds that I also want. But I will forever be poodlemommy here. :p

Cynthia, I had no idea you worked in a repair shop! That's so cool.... when I grow up that's what I want to do. I was the "go to" person in middle school and high school whenever someone had a problem with their instrument.... woodwinds only, though, never got a chance to figure out the others.

*I apologize for the band geek moment*

About me: I'm 26, have a BS in psychology and a BSW (social work), but training dogs was my dream since I was really young, so that's what I'm lucky enough to do now. I taught pet dog training classes full-time for three years right out of college (technically I started during college), and went from there to training assistance dogs for a medium-sized, non-profit training organization. I grew up in Alabama, but moved to TX for this job.

At work, we rescue all of our dogs from shelters/rescues, and train them "from scratch" to be assistance dogs. One of my favorite parts of the job is doing shelter evaluations.... It's so fascinating for me to discover how much you can really tell about a dog from the first 2 minutes of meeting it. As a whole, our organization's release rate is about 50% - half of the dogs we adopt from shelters won't make it as assistance dogs - but my personal release rate is about 10%... And that's counting the ones that were released because of physical problems (hip dysplasia). :)

I'm single, but have two pets:

Luna: 7-lb chihuahua, 6 years old, had her for 5 years. I got her to be my demo dog when I did training classes, a job she took seriously and performed excellently all three years. Inside the training ring she was fantastic, but outside the training ring she was dog reactive and I never thought she'd ever enjoy being with other dogs. We've since worked through that problem, and I now frequently foster the dogs I train at work, whom she almost always gets along perfectly with. In the past year she has actually started playing with other dogs (though she's still a snob). We also have been doing agility (casually) for about 3 years, which she loves but which I'm too lazy to get really serious about.

The Cat (yes, that's her name): 6-year old tortose shell kitty, my first cat (and I thought my mom was going to disown me when she found out I got a cat). I've had her for about four years, and I suprise myself every day with how much I love her.

I've also had fish, rats, and hamsters. I'm also currently looking to get a smooth coated collie, though I'm becomming frustrated at the lack of decent breeders and might get a standard poodle instead.

In my free time I like gardening (have a large flower bed and small vegetable garden, and am creating a new garden this year though I haven't decided what to plant yet) and quilting.

I own Boo, a mix that we adopted from the shelter in September of '07. She's been a great fit into the family. She's quirky, loving, and always ready to do whatever we ask of her.

Then there's Misty. We adopted her 11 years ago, and she's finally starting to show her true cuddliness. For the first several years, she was terrified of quick movements and new people. She's still timid, but has quite the little princess attitude.

Last but not least is Billie. She's a 12 year old appaloosa that I've been leasing for the past 4 years. She's an awesome horse - smart, stubborn, trusting, and very willing.
