I just finished this book called "princess" it was about a saudi arabian woman's life. It was a very interesting book... not one I ever would have thought to read. There were a few dry parts in it.. but overall, it was a very eye opening book.

I'd be into a Chaz book swap, but books are probably REALLY expensive to ship.

It's a lot cheaper to use these threads as recommendations, and then go to your local library and check those books out. If your library doesn't carry those books, most offer an interlibrary loan program. Not only will this save you money, it will help your local library by increasing circulation stats. A win for both!

I mail tons of books every day for interlibrary loan. The minimum price (small paperback) is $2.29 per book.

Sincerely,
A Librarian

I am re-reading the Harry Potter series :lol-sign:

Think I'm just trying to put off studying. Why would I want to do that, when I can just read something I've already read numerous times...

I finished reading Lost Dogs which is a book about the Micheal Vick dogs. I didn't ever cry, which was surprising, but I had to skip some parts because I couldn't handle reading what happened to some of them. It went into the process of getting the dogs, and the whole law thing. The part I really liked was when they were getting them into foster homes, and reading about the progress. It made me happy :)

And I also just finished Jingo - Terry Pratchett. If you have never read any of the Diskworld series, you really need to. I really liked this one because we got to see Vetinari in action, and you realize that he is a really scary, and smart guy.

I'm on the 4th book in the Baxter series by Karen Kingsbury. Rejoice is the name of this one

This is a great series for anyone into those kinds of books. she's a Christian writer and this book is based on this one family and the struggles they go through and I just really enjoy them. they move me to tears more than once in each book but some commercials have been known to move me to tears LOL I'm easily moved :)

I loooove my local library. I use it a lot. I also am a big fan of library book sales (um, hello- I was there twice this weekend), thrift shops, and paperbackswap.com.

I'm currently reading For The Win by Cory Doctorow (downloadable in various e-book forms for free from the author's website craphound.com) and Hiking Through: Finding Peace and Freedom on the Appalachian Trail by Paul V. Stutzman. I am obsessed with the Appalachian Trail right now. I was ecstatic to find two AT hiking memoirs at the library book sale on Saturday!

I just finished "Something Borrowed" and "Something Blue". Before that I read Stephen Tyler's autobiography "Does the Noise In My Head Bother You?".

I just started (as in page 7) "Footsteps in the Dark" by Georgette Heyer.

But as soon as I'm finished with that, I'm going to read the original copy of "The Godfather" that I found in my Dad's closet.

Crime and Punishment has got to be one of the best books I've ever read. This probably sounds lame but a couple of parts have literally blown my mind. I'm almost done with it, and then I need to read Anton Chekov's "The Seagull" and Conrad's "Heart of Darkness", plus my Shakespeare class starts in a few days XD XD

I read Jaycee Duggard's book yesterday "A Stolen Life". Talk about a rollercoaster of emotions. She is an amazing woman....a true survivor in every sense of the world. She is truly an inspirational person.

Im on the third book in the series by George R.R Martin. A storm of swords. So far I really like the third book. Really interesting and alot going on.

I forgive the author for now, but I am sure he will end up pissing me off again.

I just finished A Man in Uniform by Kate Taylor. Very good read, but it's slow at the beginning.

I'm now reading Ugly Beauty by Ruth Brandon. I don't normally go for historical nonfiction...but this one is pretty good. It takes a look at two of the major cosmetic tycoons of the 20th century.

Heart of Darkness is good...not great, but pretty good. The imagery is nice, the language is beautiful, the story is mediocre. It's definitely pretty politically interesting for it's time period.

Other than that, I'm on a Midsummer's Night Dream, which is hilarious, a little bit over-the-top and fluffy, but still thoroughly enjoyable.
