Yep, that's going to be my strategy. I'm not even going to bring a tug to class and just bring tennis balls. Then I will work on a few ideas to try to build tug drive at home. 1) flirt pole and see if I can get her tugging on that more. 2) Sock or something similar with a ball inside it. 3) The kong squeaky ball on a rope. 4) Shaping a tug.
Do you think it's too much to experiment with all those ideas a little bit? Or focus on just one?
I think I CAN build her tug drive eventually. It's not like she has no toy/prey drive and she will tug on occasion. I just need to work out how to utilize it/make it more rewarding.
