I currently feed Savannah Holistic Select kibble, canned and some raw (not all at the same meal of course). I want to make raw a larger part of her diet and am considering adding some Honest Kitchen and eliminating the kibble. Does anyone feed this way? Is it a good idea or not? The Honest Kitchen is pricey and I know I wouldn't be able to feed it exclusively. She is an almost six year old Standard Poodle who tends to stay on the thin side if that makes a difference.

Thanks in Advance,
Melissa

I have a dog on a low fat diet. I have to use THK preference with rabbit or very lean chicken. Happily he is the only one I have to do this with.

Lots of people supplement raw diet with THK because it's so digestive friendly unlike mixing raw with kibble. Some dogs prefer different flavors more than others and it is expensive. So buy cases when you can afford it to save a few bucks. My personal favorite "flavor" is embark, at least it's what my dogs prefer and do best on.

My corgi mix is on THK (Keen or Preference with beef) exclusively. My other two eat kibble and THK (Kes eats Keen or Preference like Z, Aeri eats Thrive since she's a pup). I love THK for the quality of the ingredients *and* the customer service. Plus switching to THK exclusively for Z solved her periodic incontinence issues. :D

They are having a special on Keen this month - check out their facebook page for the coupon! :)

I think it sounds like a great idea. :)

They'll send you samples, so e-mail them and ask. IMO it makes sense to try a sample first anyway. B didn't care for it, but this was a while ago when I was starting out with home cooking and raw, and he was kind of picky.

Thanks for the replies everyone. My question now is if I do get her some Honest Kitchen how much should I feed her since I'm still going to be feeding raw and canned?

Thanks Again,
Melissa
