I heard the story about him. Absolutely incredible. I just dont think the man was treating the bears as wild animals and he and his girlfriend payed for it with their lives in the end. I mean, he was actually consumed by a grizzly. very sad.
Nobody knows for sure, I dont think. There was a bear found nearby with remains in his stomach, but they dont know if that was the one that killed him. I think he just got too close. Overstepped his boundaries, and the bear got tired of it.
Yes there was a video camera running when they were both attacked and killed. The video was never released because, though you couldn't see them being killed, you could hear them screaming and being eaten alive.

Yeah It's sad but I can't really say I'm surprised when any of those kind of people get eaten or killed by the wild animals they love so much. He spent his whole time trying to give these bears a better name for themselves, when in the end his death sort of undid most of that.
I saw the movie, my mother mentioned that he looked like he had a few other issues going on with him.
But i loved the amount of respect he had for the bears and he was very interesting.

I dont think it undid all of it. I think it gives a clear message that wild animals are just that, WILD. That is no reason to hate them though. I am amazed that the bears actually let him get so close, for so long. It proves that they dont go out of their way to harm, they do it only when they feel threatened.
I think that guy really lost it there in the end. I am all for living in the wild but he took it a little too far. OT: I have a HUGE crush on Bear Gryllis btw. I want to marry that man.
I thought the story to his death was...they found the bear who actually killed and consumed him, and PART of his girlfriend's remains were found near their tent. The part of her found in the bear, as well.

On TV I heard that they found a bear with their remains in its stomach, but they dont know if THAT bear actually killed them, or if he was just munching on the remains after they were dead.

I just got done reading that entire thing. Very interesting, and I do think he was doing more harm than good with those animals. Feeding a fox and getting him used to people, not good. Getting wild bears accustomed to being around people, not good.
That link made me want to cry. The part about amie witnessing her man being eaten alive by the bear, and then the bear returning for her 6 minutes later. Desperately trying to get away by using the tent as a barrier, but the bear went right over the flimsy tent and got her.
