Interview this afternoon! *crosses fingers*

Really hope I like the place and that the job is what I'm looking for. Although I'd be (mostly) happy to not work, the extra money will be WONDERFUL and I'd like to be established somewhere before Michael is deployed. I can't just sit around the house all day when he's gone. I would quite literally go insane.

My new betta boy is really cute. I got him last night as a "welcome home" present to myself ;) He's an orange cellophane butterfly veiltail male (quite the mouthful!).

Thanks guys! I'll get some better pictures up later, I didn't want to stress him out with the flash on his first day home.

Very cool! This will give YOU plenty of opportunities to practice neutrality with Talon, too! One word to the wise, though: even if it seems 'easy', this sort of distraction dog work can be stressful for the decoy dog, so be sure to give T breaks, reward heavily for behaviors you like, and have a plan in place with your trainer in case he needs a break in the middle of a session. :)
Thanks, I appreciate the advice!

I really love my trainer, she is very mindful of each dog and let's me know that if I feel Talon needs a break just to signal her and take a few minutes. :) Today she called me for a private she has with an over-excited dog. It was last last minute, so she made sure I was OK with that (I have nothing else to do lol) and she told me exactly what to expect when I get there. Then she came out to tell me what the plan was, what signals meant, and she told me of all the dogs in the neighborhood lol It went really well. We were pretty far since the dog could barely see a dog in the distance without getting overexcited, and we had to pull off a few times for others walking their dog (I was the signaler), but overall I think it went great.

Talon seems to be able to settle down a lot easier too, so that's a plus. I'm really excited to continue this so we can do seom private sessions with Artimis! :)

Gabby and I are going to a positive gun dog seminar this weekend. Because the presenter wanted an ESRA dog there, and none of our adoptable dogs are able to go. So Gabby and I are going! Ahahahaha, this should be interesting.
