I haven't had anybody ask how much I paid for Feist. Although they do ask where I got her and I feel bad when I say 'from a breeder in PA' because I know people are thinking puppy mill. Lesigh. :p

Yeah, I'm not sure why people always want to know how much dogs cost LOL. I just say something along the lines of, "A lot because they are a rare breed." That kind of keeps things simple. Though I haven't really paid for any of mine except for Kimma, and I got her for really cheap (comparatively).

Though of course with all of Bubby's medical expenses, Jari alone makes up for my not having to pay for Bubby and Pen hahaha. And I could probably fit another dog or two in there for that amount of money!

All of my dogs have been under $800! :D I don't remember exact numbers but I think Buzz was $250, Bailey was $600, and Gabby was $300!

I just don't know sometimes.

Frodo was $600 too! Maybe that's the secret, if you pay $600 for a dog it is guaranteed to have behavioral and health problems? :p

I get asked about cost all the time, but to be fair I think that's a fair question since usually they are asking how much it cost to import with a look of horror on their face.

HE WAS WORTH EVERY PENNY, THAT'S HOW MUCH. (Actually Squash was super cheap.)

My actual vent is... Polar Vortex II, go away before we all go insane and kill each other. When I vacuum mostly to let Squash play with the vacuum cleaner while I'm doing it, we're running out of things to do inside.

As far as I'm concerned, the amount of money which is going to get dumped into feeding, health care, enrichment, training and trialing will ultimately dwarf the initial purchase price, so why worry about it? But that's me. I am a crazy doglady who has money.

What either amuses or annoys me depending on that day is that nobody would bat an eye if someone spent waaaaaay more money than I spend on my dogs on, say, fishing or hunting equipment. Or a badass mountain bike or snowboarding gear. Or a new set of golf clubs. MY HOBBY IS AS VALID AS YOURS AND IT LOVES ME BACK, DAMIT.

Last time I added stuff up, Tim's hobby was still WAY more expensive than mine in a year.

I don't feel bad about how much I spend, I just uhh, want more money!

Seriously! My old boss used to give me grief about it and I had to remind him about his golf hobby, which I think he spent more between lessons, and outings and clubs (Seriously, how can those things cost that much?!?) than I did.

And his clubs can't snuggle with him...well they can but it's rather uncomfortable and cold.

This, in all of it's entirety.

I don't see why it's anyone's concern how much someone wants to spend on their hobby whether it be fishing, or dog agility (or flyball, or disc, or conformation, or, or, or). It's our money, it's our hobby, it's what we want to spend time and money on. *shrugs*

Nobody has ever asked me how much I spend on classes or food (probably because of have smaller dogs, lol) or vet care, it's only the initial price people seem to be so concerned about...

People would flip their **** if they found out how much I've spent on my rats over the past year alone. Ehehe....

I am honestly curious to see which dog was most expensive last year (Buzz, Bailey, Frodo, or Siri).

And by saying that, I really don't actually want to know a number.

Yes, sometimes it is best to pretend we can't do the math in our heads.

(General) I figure as long as I'm paying my own bills and it's all legal, I'm the only one who needs to know how much I pay who for what :p

Yeha me either. I added up all my class expenses for the last couple years and Oy....

But my friend spent over $2000 on a purse, which I think is insane. For some reason spending it on dogs is weird though. idk

Can't find my dremel and Izzie is a twat about the clippers.

Solution?

Play fetch with the clippers between paws.

Problem solved.

Though I'd still like to know where my dremel ran off to...

I must live in some kind of bizarro world because I have NEVER been asked how much my dogs cost, how much I spend on them, etc. It's totally weird to me that people actually come up to you guys and ask that. Maybe I just don't get out enough... lol. All of my friends are either also dog people so they get it, or already know I'm a crazy dog lady so they don't bring it up.

The most I've gotten is some ribbing from my boyfriend about how much time I spend doing or reading about dog stuff, or the fact that I want another dog in the future. "One was enough. Two is plenty. Why would you want three dogs?" Well babe, why do you have six computers/laptops? Isn't one enough? Maybe two, a desktop and a laptop? :p Oh right... that's your hobby! At least yours don't require constant upkeep. Oh wait, you're always working on them and upgrading them. lol It's never a serious argument, he just doesn't get it.

Yeah people ask me where Juno is from but I've never had anyone ask about cost.

I freely admit I spend too much money on collars and dog shampoo lol but no one minds. :p
