well, seems the city is in quite the dither.....major snowstorm predicted for tomorrow. Hopefully, it quiets down for the game on Sunday....but anyone travelling in to the city tomorrow is in for a mess. We've already had some major drama on the roadways this week.......gridlock into the city lasting for 4 hours.....don't the salt crews listen to the weather?? Oh yeah.....wait....they aren't usually correct, are they. LOL I don't live in the city anymore........now in the country about 2 hrs. away. But I am a gal born and raised in the 'Burg'. To the Pat's fans....secretly....and OH YES, this is a secret......you've got one heck of a team, so I'll be nail-biting for sure! Luckily, both teams are quite used to playing in the cold temps (seems the chill factor will be around 0) I date myself here........oh, how I remember the 'dynasty' of the Steelers, and sitting in the frigid temps not feeling my toes past the first quarter. But, I had such a crush on so many players.....do they remember me as their number one fan??? LOL I now will be happily watching from the comfort of home...warm......with a toddy (compliments of Renee..heeheehee) Ahhhhh, football and the cold....good friends! Whatever happens.......it will be such fun. I've got lots of food......the fire...I'm ready. And so..........my luck...we'll have this snowstorm, I'll loose power and miss the game anyway. LOL BUT, I still must just say this GO STEELERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Picture us munching on PIEROGIES....(nope, don't know if the spelling is correct..just used to eating them!) Kielbassy...BEER...HELLOOOOOO, that would be IRON CITY BEER. Happy Weekend to all..........and to this football fan........WHY COULDN'T THE GAME BE ON SAT. OR EARLY SUN.???? It may be BLACK Monday around here. lol Have the best weekend my friends! :D

Charley and I will be joining you, Debi! Only it will probably be burritos and gorditas from Don Panchos' Taquiera and Negro Modela. Maybe pizza . . . lol.

Glad you like the toddy recipe. That reminds me I need to stop in a Cracker Barrel and get more cinnamon stick candy.

They're calling for snow this weekend here, but who knows? As you say, they're always wrong. If it does snow, hopefully it will wait until Saturday night - don't want to keep people from buying furniture Saturday! :D

Ohhh! Just imagine . . . a Steelers/Iggles Superbowl! The Falcons/Iggles - Vick/McNabb game is going to be a blast to watch!

Hope this isn't a bud-in-ski moment. But, just had to pipe in. We in Mass. are expecting at least 6 inches by Sunday as of this morning's weather forecast. I actually had two free tickets to Philly to watch the darn game but had to say no because my husband has plowing contracts  and it would take us 8 hours to get there by car

I would have really, really, really like to have played the Jets (darn them, can't do anything for me) because I know how hard the Steelers are going to be to beat. I'm hoping my nails grow a bit from last week so I have enough to bite off?

As for Pierogies and Kielbasa, yummmmmm! Just make sure you have a fan rotating LOL

No, no, Avenlee! The more football fans the merrier!!

That's terrible to miss a game that's going to be so great - but at least you can be warm at home watching on TV.

Maybe you'll get the Jets next year. You know they'll be tuning up and filling in some personnel holes during the off-season.

I hope Cheese (Travis Henry to those of you who don't follow Tennessee football, lol) ends up in Miami. He'd definitely fill the void there and go a long way toward making them competitive again. What's football season without Miami in the mix? That's almost like football season without the Packers.

Oh, the draft is going to be in-ter-ruusting this year . . .

I 'm here, I 'm here too....I want to join in. I LOVE football, Hubby is from Mass., so he is HUGE Pats fan, so I have become one by marriage. You would think since I am from Tennessee that I would be a titans fan, but not really so much.

For college football though, I am a HUGE University of Tennessee fan (I went there) and my blood runs orange.

I tend to pick teams because I like the coach's ethics, or how much fun they are to watch, or how clean they play, or how many and which UT alums are on the team (and how they are treated).

Gotta love Steve McNair! And Jacksonville's a favorite now since Big John's playing. Nawlins needs a quarterback to throw to Donte Stallworth, or at least a better O line . . .

Okay, Renee, where's the toddy recipe I missed?

Carl has to work Sunday (second shift), so I'll be watching the game with the pets. I will be exhausted since we will be shoveling out of the 18" of snow expected to end Sunday by noon. Oh how I hate winter!!!!!!!!!!!

We've been on our diet (lots of broiled chicken & rice as Carl said it's the best way he lost weight as he's been a weight lifter most of his life), but I'm going to break out the hot chocolate and enjoy the game!!!!!!!!!!

I backed into this one the other night when Charley came in from a cold trip on the tractor to bring more hay over from the field. He wanted a toddy, but I didn't have any lemons. I did, however, have some of that instant hot spiced apple cider mix (Stephen's, from the Nefarious WalMart) and some cinnamon stick candy from Cracker Barrel, so I made him a big strong mug of that, put half a cinnamon stick in it and topped it off with a jigger of bourbon.

I'll never make a traditional toddy again!

Ya know.....I decided I really DO like it when the weathermen are wrong. It's snowing like crazy.....YUK. You can't even see across the yard just now. This is going to be a biggie.........I'm going to need a few toddies!!! lol Worse yet........it's not even a good, wet snowman kind of snow. It's frigid, windy and absolutely not a play kind of day. That's just WRONG. just wrong. ;)
