Ok, I think this forum is for responsible breeders. :) Which is great! If you are going to have puppies, you must make reservations before hand. And make sure of everything. But I think the forum is great! :D No breeding is probably the best breeding if you are not ready for the puppies. :p hehe. Well, there is my opinion. :) Its nothing against you of course. :p
Yes you are right, breeding is to be responsible. You must have your ducks in a row too. But to breed a dog with these areas attached are unethical:

1)Untrained and unstructured dog along with behaviors
2) Breed just to breed
3) Breed for the extra income with out researching them physically and mentally. Not all dogs should be bred.
4) No registration papers
5) Not certified in these areas; Hips elbows shoulder, eyes, heart, thyroid and the list goes on
I really don't take much to heart, I just have to take it from where it comes from. If the so called breeder wishes to breed the dog and sell it. Their issues when the new purchaser comes after them, the SPCA comes and then the law suits start flying. That is what generally follows when irresponsibility comes into play. So the way I look at it, if some one takes the time to direct GOOD ADVICE and they refuse to follow it. Well again their problem not mine. So to be honest with you that is my PO::::::popcorn:

I have to say I like this forum a lot. There are only 2 other forums that I know of that support and promote responsible breeding and the rest are just silly places with all kinds of people posting just for the sake of posting....... their post count is over 5000 but if you really look at it, all they say is `Ohhhh sweet` or `Awww how adorable`!!

I have to say im sorry for this- by me exposing here yet another website that deals in backyard bred dogs founded on a backyard breeder they attacked you guys.

They are here and still here today to promote the backyard breeder and his site and now to attack me since it gets personal for them .When it is not about us humans it is about the dogs and what is best for the them.

But I will say this as per the quote from there" no good trainers or breeders are here"

I will say this
A this is not a forum to sell backyard bred dogs like the site that attacked this one so I dont expect to find the shitty or so so good breeders from there here. To the contrary i find the BEST here...

B. Breeders spend more time off the net during certain times of the year to PROVE their dogs and to breed them and work them. So year thier may not be allot of breeders chatting all day that is because they are GREAT breeders and they are doing the right thing by their dogs. And the ones that are here can take the toughest challenges without attacking the question and or the person behind them that makes this place UNIQUE.
Unlike that site when you can get $1000 for a unproven backyard dog only those less than good breeders and webmasters have time to sit on the net all day trying to Sell pups after they are born and no one wants them.

C "Trainers" hint to the other site Trainers are TRaining i spend 1-2 weeks trying to get the protection trainer I work with on the tel. So you are correct this is not a forum for all the professional trainers since most are doing what""" TRAAAININING.

D They are still reg here and i can see them trolling so apparantly we have something here they want and or need hint again its called respect for the dogs . Because what affects one breed affects all.

So in conclusion anti breeding? NO
But YES to anti BACKYARD BREEDING and COMMERCIAL BREEDING and PUPPYMILLS and DESIGNER breeders.

Which is why this place will be around forever :) thanks guys for being YOU..

I agree that Chazhound seems like a great group of folks that really care about the canines who can't speak for themselves. "Passionate" is a word that definitely comes to mind....

With that said, for the most part, Chazzers are great about the way they put forth the things they are passionate about. You can make a great deal of difference in the way that you approach things though. I understand where dogs are something very near and dear to the heart of everyone on Chazhound, it can sometimes be difficult to be eloquent, but respect goes a long way, especially when you are chastising something someone is doing.

Ie -

"You're so stupid for breeding your dog. There is no excuse for it to get pregnant! You ignorant slob, you're bringing mutts into the world! You are the spawn of satan!"

vs.

"I really feel that you should educate yourself a little bit on the statistics surrounding dogs in shelters, etc" -- you get the point?

I have met a couple of Chazzers that are less than respectful in the way they respond to things but for the most part, they're a top notch group of folks. I have belonged to many a forum where people are not so eloquent with their wording, but have found that for the most part, there are plenty of people who are adults (or can act like one!) here that can express themselves without grossly offending.

You catch more flies with sugar than honey, as they say. ;)

*applause*

I take it that this is, at least in part, directed at me too. I am getting a little tired of the slanted remarks about trolling. If you would like me to leave the forum, just say so. Have the courage to at least be direct in your intentions. It seems to me that you WILL pick a fight in one way or another...

Gillian guilty mind? actually was not talking about you.
And if you read all the other topics not just the ones that you have a vested interest in you would know that.

In regards to picking a fight A i did not post this thread and waited very long days before i replied and B i replied when I was attacked on a thread not on this topic from yet another troll from the on topic message board.

But heh you were the one who "agreeded: with that person assessment of this being a "anti breeding forum and one that good trainers and good breeders did not visit"

YET YOU ARE STILL here HMMM food for thought.

Guess the forum does offer something to everyone go CHAZ.
ANTI backyard breeding forum best on the net.

Thanks for posting i do appreciate it since I wont join you on the backyard breeder forum nice to know i can grab your attention here.

No Jeannine, if you'd read correctly, I agreed that you acted like an ex-wife!
I think I said the same to you... I am nothing if not honest in MY intentions. Don't bother answering me as I am not going to cock this thread up in the same manner as the other one.

In your own language; have a nice day!

OK, first off, a HUGE pet peeve of mine:

Niagra Falls is A CANADIAN CITY!

Sorry, that just really bothers me. :p

As for being an anti-breeding site, *coughChibreeder?cough* as stated, I'd rather be an anti-breeding site as opposed to condoning irresponsible breeding.

But no, I don't think we are an anti-breeding site. There are a few breeders, like Momof7, that are regular Chazzers that get along just fine here. I wonder why? NOT. Because their ethical breeders, who breed to better the breed, not for money, not for glory.

So whatever, *shrugs shoulders*

LOL you are right. We live about 15 mins from Niagara Falls Canada .
We reside in Niagara county-in wine counry NY vs much more known Erie country Buffalo.
When we have judges here we have to sadly take them to the Us side of the falls which is not as nice as the Canadian Side.. But due to VIsa hard for them to go into 2 countries at once.

And ditto on the anti breeding forum :)

We are not far from you ..and show often in Toronto the next best thing to NYC for us natives.

I believe in education not critising. You can't expect people to be open to responsible breeding information when they feel attacked and leave. JMO

You can lead a horse to water you can not make him drink.

Some newbies breeders _ here are open to education .
While others are long time backyard breeders who are CHA CHINGING to the tune of paying for their mortage and or extra source income _ all being done without_ any ethical requirements.

Why should they change and spend the thousands it takes to prove dogs when they are getting the same money NOW from the novice dog buying public ?

So when education turns to critizing it is because the "breeder" does not want a education as a matter of fact its the opposite they want to educate us that Health TT work or show is not a requirement to breed dogs .
When they do that _ that is when it turns into a attack ..

This does not include the buyer who got a Schnoodle, or who got from a backyard breeder and needs some help to ID what a backyard breeder is.

The above is for the people who backyard breed and have no want so ever to change. Why should they they get PAID whether or not we "approve of them" it has to be in your heart and soul and mind BEFORE you breed to want to improve. You dont learn kindness or logic on boards that is inherited nature.

You can learn how to improve and how to get better dogs and to be a "better" breeder_ you can learn to be a better human ONLINE.

My 2 cents based on today I got a litter of "backyard bred pups that I "tried" the help route with" and of course it boomeranged into a backyard breeder who used me to save his litter and now I got 9 potential rescues to deal with"

I think we have been pretty lenient here . Many newbies have joined to toot their own horns about a new litter . Many have now had their females spayed after reading our posts . Kudos to them !!! Responsible breeding is what we preach . I never bred more than one female .... never once a year ! And I turned down many who wanted to use my stud dogs. Many kennels are into championships and show breeding . For the best of their breeds they do this responsibly .......I'm anti-breeding for those who just crank them out for $$$.As to wanting another " Fi-Fi " etc ... the chance of breeding one is the same as going to as good breeder and buying one ....much cheaper too !

I found this site to be very helpful. At least you are honest and tell the truth about what to expect when you breed a dog. You won't get rich, It's very complicated, and the risks are high for the dog. Not to mention the costs! $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ You never gain money, you lose it. Sorry, i'd rather use that money to repay my mom for all the stuff Sly has destroyed of hers, and not have to worry about the risks to my dog.
