Since my pumpkin pies already came out of the oven, this is filed away for future reference.
I love the coffee creamer trick. It adds to the creaminess without adding to the liquid volume, so you can really pack it in without diluting your recipe.

And smoked turkey is probably my favorite way to have turkey. We smoke turkeys periodically throughout the year. We buy a few extra when they go on sale just to have them for later. :D

So I'm in charge of apps, and I'm cheating. I bought pre-made puff-pastry dough, and my boyfriend is making the fillings. I win!

He's making some cream cheese bacon and onion and some cream cheese and jam. Nom.

I usually cook, but I was really sick, so I asked my mom to go shopping for me.

The list was: potatoes, sweet potatoes, carrots, zucchini, green beans....I was so sick I resigned to using cornbread mix. My aunt was doing the turkey & pies.

My mom went and bought these microwavable premade potato dishes...they were pretty horrific. She brought precut weird carrots, too. And premade cornbread from the grocery store bakery.

We completed the meal with canned gravy, canned cranberry sauce, and Mrs. Smith's frozen pies.

My family was raving about how the meal tasted just as good as homemade and was so much easier.

It did NOT taste like homemade food.
