Texas Rednose... Ack.

Does anyone have a good link for pit colours, that disproves that Texas Rednose is NOT a breed??

Once again Brent and I have got into a tiff about it, and I'd like to get some good solid information.

His point is that all "Rednoses" he's known have been the same style, same build and same red/orange colour.

Please help! Sick of fighting! LOL

Rednose pits or blue nose is not a breed it is a "type" if you even want to call it that.. and its because of the "Old Family Rednoses" is were the rednose label first started...All of their dogs has a distinct red nose and red color

Thanks Jess that was exactly what I was looking for and it answered Brent's point about all the red noses having a same build. Old family Rednose, so that would be why they all look alike, they come from a very tight knit line of dogs.

Just because an APBT is red nosed doesn't automatically make it OFRN:

I know it doesn't automatically make them a part of that lineage BUT from the sounds of it a great number of red/red noses did indeed come from that line, and could be traced back to it.

Of course there are some that aren't, but as it's just a colour, I assume you could breed two dogs that are not from that line, and still produce red/red noses.

And I find it quite convincing because I've noticed personally, and is why I was stumped when he mentioned, that red/red noses always have a particularly defining build and head shape. Now the guy I know that just got a pit, is a red/orange colour and she doesn't have that build. So I would assume she's just a red/red nose and not from the same bloodline as Old Family Red Noses.
