:) Well I find that a little harsh but you're allowed your feelings. :D Would you want to live like that Gaddy? (I'm asking from curiosity not to argue or anything there is no solution in this situation)

I'm glad she's not suffering anymore and her soul can be set free. RIP

Ditto gaddy.
Michael Schiavo obviously won't get what he deserves on earth, because American government now apparently sides with killers. He is such a sad excuse for man or a human being. Such a sad excuse for scum! He DID NOT care for her, for if he did, he would not have been committing adultry. Now, he can go marry the woman that he has 2 children with. He can watch Terri's parents mourn their daughter and probably love every second of it.
At least now, Terri is in a good place.

I guess when I get married, I shouldn't take my vows seriously either!

Do you even talk about that when you're getting married? Probably very few people do. I have two married sisters and I can tell you they never discussed with their husbands whether they want to live if they ever become brain damaged. I am an epileptic, and if my epilepsy was so serious that I couldn't walk, had to use an epilepsy dog, I would still want to live. I would want to be starved to death.

He was cheating on his wife. She may have had to live in a hospital, but he's still cheating on her, which is plain wrong. At least Terri Schiavo is in a place where she doesn't have to deal with idiots like Michael Schiavo. And that man will not go where she's gone.

I cannnot believe that her husband (Michael) would not "allow" her parents (and her brother and sister) to be by her bedside when she passed away. How horrible of a person! He just continues to hurt them over and over. I am guessing that he will need to be very careful in public from now on. I honestly don't think that man has a heart! I am sure that Terri would have wanted her parents and siblings with her. That is just too bad. He will get what is coming to him, if not on earth then when he meets his maker! Hopefully sooner than later!

Actually, I have talked about that with my boyfriend and my parents. I haven't put it in writing yet but I think I will now! I bet a lot of people have learned from that. If I was braindead like that for so many years I would not want to live. Nature does not want me to live. My bf knows that and completely understands. There is no quality of life there and I'd be ready to move on to my next adventure.

I don't know if there's anything more to say on this issue as I belive both sides have been represented. However, I would have never wanted to be in that state for 15 years. People should not be so harsh to judge her husband so quickly. Have any of you visited the idea in your head that if you were in the same condition for 15 years! what you would want to be done And then told your husband those wishes and it took 15 years to do just that. Her husband could have done this 10 or 12 years ago, but did not (and think he should have back then). These are only my beliefs and its a very touchy subject. Everyone has their opinions and I respect them all, however, I for one would never even wanted it to prolong for 15 years. Her husband is not making any money for doing this. He has turned down money.

I suggest just letting her go peacefully and everyone just allow the families to grieve in peace. I hope and pray the press will allow them to do just that at this point.

I just want to say that I respect everyone's feelings as well. It's a sensitive, complicated issue with no easy solution.

I'm speaking of marriage.

I do not want to fight. I'm done.

I didn't know we were fighting. I'm just discussing it. I think it's wise to discuss these sorts of things with your partner before you marry. Some people may have a problem with it, obviously, and it's good to get everything out in the open.

A little before 10:00 Terri Shiavo died...:( I am feeling mixed feelings....I am sad for her family because they are probably hurting so much, but I am kind of relieved because she doesn't have to go through pain anymore.

This has been an interesting thread. As a parent I would fine it hard to let go. I myself would not want to be in a state where if I was aware of things, but couldn't express myself !!!! An Aries not being able to talk and vent would be like Hell to me!! Anyway, my blessings are with Terri and her family and I wish the worse to Michael .!! In 1976 Karn Quinlan was taken off her life support on this day ! Weird. A birthday I won't forget.

Your exactly right Saje. There are obviously going to be very mixed replies to this type of subject matter. I've been married to my husband for 17 yrs and from year one, he has known (because he was told by me) my feelings and wishes about death and living. He knows exactly what I would want to be done. However, I do not feel it appropriate to announce them here.

I don't think anyone here is fighting only expressing their opinions. We're not here to judge anyone :)

Yes, I think we can all learn from this how important it is to make our wishes known. I know I have and will again. I should write a will but I don't know how. :)

Everyone has been very mature on this thread. And that is good. :) Everything I have said is my opinion and does not mean that everyone has to feel or see things the same way. Thanks everyone for being mature, understanding adults.

I think I am going to have a living will done very soon. That way no one has to make that hard decision because I have already made it. I have learned a lot at Terri's expense.

I think everyone has Roni. It's a scary thought, the idea of living like that. At least for me.
