He most likely decided not to come back to this thread, which I do not blame him because some people were a bit harsh. All he wanted was for people to have a listening ear and to actually help him, not judge him. I think he is a great owner & his dog is lucky to have him because he CARES about his dog! I think if the dog is pain then it is right to pts. If the meds are not working then I can not see spending lot's more money on something that is not even making a difference in the quality of the dogs life. I am sending you a hug because I know how hard it is to be in that place.

Someone already said this, but I"ll go ahead and repeat. I would go ahead and get the xray, the new meds, whatever he needed, and then after a good length of time (at least 6 months) I would reevaluate his condition. If he hasn't gotten any better I would then consider pts or not.
