Have no idea, i'm afraid! I have heard that they can be bad for your teeth though! Not sure how true this is!

You do have to be careful because it is reported that some otc whiteners strip enamel, or could possibly damage gums. The whitening at the dentist IS expensive, and even that just depends...sometimes only brings the tooth up a couple shades. IF teeth are terribly stained..bonding may be the way to go. Still $$, but lasts a longgg time. :)

The whitening strips may work to a point, but they aren't really worth the money. What really works to whiten teeth...and is CHEAP, is good old baking soda. It removes stains without being harsh to tooth enamel. Ever try baking soda to scrub out your kitchen sink...coffee, tea, etc....GONE. Same for your teeth without being abrasive. Just keep your tongue away and don't swallow...YUK Baking soda is excellent for gum tissue health, too. It is as effective as dental prophy paste....just tastes bad. LOL :)

I use the crest white strips. I love them! I kind of mash the stip on my teeth, making sure to get the goo inbetween so the top isn't white and stained on the sides, make sense? Also, talk about freshening up your mouth! Woo Hoo!

If you have a crown or any bonding, be careful of whitening too much and creating a mis-match of color.

I see a color difference in 3 days and I stop there. It's different for each person. My husband isn't wild about the shape of the strips fyi. The bottom and top stips do not cover every tooth. Just the front 8 or so.

Good luck!

I watched an episode of Friends this week (nothing but repeats of everything on our TV at the moment) and it was the one where Ross whitened his teeth. It made me laugh loads, seeing his teeth so white and glowing....sort of thing I'd end up doing by mistake if I tried it at home, lol.
