I was going to say - you are talking to a person from a nation BUILT on tea drinking - it has ALWAYS been pretentious - built on ruling other nations and slavery! The upper classes sipping their tea, in the shade of a weeping willow, or sitting on their balcony watching the workers pick only the finest tips from the tea leaves - I can't think of anything MORE pretentious!!!
I was talking about this century :)

Re: mint - if you keep an eye out, you'll probably come across spearmint growing wild in most empty lots.

I like the Tazo brand of teas. I love English Breakfast for a nice black tea. I like green tea also. I'll pretty much drink any kind of tea. Earl Grey is also a good one.

I would think that any tea lover would go loose tea rather than bags ....bags are the dregs of good leaves . My old minister said I was the only member of the parish who understood tea ...being brought up in Canada , I heated the tea pot with hot water , dumped , put in leaves and poured boiling water into pot .....steep 2 0r 3 minutes , and pour though tea strainer .

Is there such a thing as a heavy tea? Most of the tea I've ever drunk was real light on flavor and it tasted more like flavored water than tea. Really weak. Tis why I don't drink a lot of tea.

I've tried the bags and the powdered kind and nothing seems to work. I've even tried as many as three bags at once and it just seems so transparent in taste. Are there heavier tasting teas out there? Liptons is pretty good. You can tell "hey, I'm drinking tea" and not just 'I think I just tasted a bit of lemon...'

I do, however, like Chai. Chai is freaking awesome. Add a bit of milk in with it and I'll take that over a soda any day.
Try ordering a packet of this http://www.uptontea.com/shopcart/it...category=Breakfast&sortMethod=0&categoryID=41. ;)

And remember, different teas take different water temperatures and different steeping times. And never, ever expect to get good tea from tap water

I do. The water that comes out of my tap is fabulous spring water from my own spring. It's crystal clear and free of bad tasting minerals or chemicals.

Tea! Has to be PG tips (available in the UK) and strong enough to stand a spoon in! :p Just the way us navvy unwashed types like it.

I like Green Tea with mint, lemon, or spices.. Cranberry and Raspberry tea.. The list goes on. The French are into herbal tea (Tisane) in a BIG way.. Tey even do one which is Red Fruit crumble, and it takes just like Crumble dessert, funnily enough! LOL!

HONEY?! Ick, noooo, nasty, bad! Milk and 2 sugars, just the way nature intended, unless of course it's Earl Grey or Lady Grey, and then hold the milk and add Lemon! ;)
