Ozzie picked up saying "I love you" out of the blue. I said it to him several times when he was just 8 or 9 weeks old, and he started saying it almost immediately. It's cute with the samoyed a-rroo. Kind of like "I ruve a-rooooo." Anyway, he has picked up "biker," he likes to bark at motorcycles when we're out for a drive. He sticks his head out the window and yells "iiiiiker" at them. That's ok, too, but "trucker" has begun to pose a bit of a problem, as you can imagine. Not sure how to change that. Any ideas??

Sorry! When Ozzie says trucker it sounds pretty profane--kind of like 'ruck-oooooo.' And he barks it at the Trucks. My husband thought it would be cute, but.....

Well, physiologically speaking, dogs can't really make a "tr" sound, their tongues can't move that way. It's actually a pretty advanced sound for humans to make, if you think about it. So I'm pretty doubtful that he's going to be able to say "trucker."

The K sound is also pretty advanced, as a matter of fact.

But the barking at the trucks can be fixed. What is he doing when he barks at them, is it when you're driving? windows up or down? or is it when you're walking?

My husband started it, when he noticed Ozz like barking at motorcycles. He said "biker" and Ozz would stick his head out a partly opened window in the car and bark. Then Ozz got to imitating the word, and says his version of biker, kind of like 'ike-ooo.' So, my husband started him on trucks. Now Ozz is 'yelling' 'ruck--oooo' at trucks, sometimes at bikers or cars, or policemen. Ozzie is getting a vocabulary, but he says the words any time for any reason, so 'uck--oooo' isn't very polite. :) But his version of I love you is very cute. The ups guy likes it.
