I saw this newspaper, a lab dog died, cuz her liver turned so bad. They wondered why, cuz she just had a check up and was healthy. Till that dog died, they had ahopsy, found out after while. It was from licking the floor, which the owner used swifter mop and dog possibly licked it food or spilled drinks onto floor. Beware all dog and cats owners, try not use swifter mop anymore if you love your animals. Swifter, has kind of antifreezer and other chemcils in it. Other animals seem fine. Just in case, so either its harmless or not. But I thought this should be known to other animal lovers too.

this has been proven false

It sounds like your newspaper accidently printed an urban legend.
Veterinary toxicologists at the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center have reviewed the claim described in a widely distributed email alleging a relationship between the use of Swiffer Wet Jet and liver failure in a dog. The email alleges that exposure to the ingredients in Swiffer Wet Jet caused a dog's death.

The Swiffer Wet Jet system contains water (90-100%), propylene glycol n-propyl ether or propylene glycol n-butyl ether and isopropyl alcohol (1-4%). These ingredients are safe to use around pets when used according to label directions and would not cause liver damage at product concentrations. Propylene glycol n-butyl/propyl ether differs significantly from ethylene glycol, the potentially toxic ingredient present in most antifreeze products. Ethylene glycol is frequently implicated in causing renal failure in dogs following antifreeze ingestion. Propylene glycol n-propyl ether and propylene glycol n-butyl ether are very safe ingredients at levels used in cleaning products and do not cause kidney or liver failure.

and really, how much does any dog lick the floor??? a little lick for dropped food maybe. but you'd have to have a dog that licked the entire floor continuously. (a stranger problem than Swiffer) it's quite safe. :) I use Brite floor cleaner...Swiffer between...even have used Pine Sol. once in a great while one of the dogs will lick (probably a spill) without one bit of harm except me yelling ....STOP...cause dog slobber isn't always in my plan for a clean floor. LOL :)
