Here the questions:

Questionnaire on the dog culture in the USA

Your age: 23
Your place of residence: Cary, North Carolina
Age of the dog(s): 1.5 years old
Number of your dogs: 1

1. What dog breed is your dog/ are your dogs?
Shetland Sheepdog

2. How much money do you spend, on average, for your dog(s) per month?
My best guess, including vet bills, toys, supplies, food is about $150 a month. But he has had about $600 in vet bills in the last 6 months.

3. Which items, beside the standard equipment (lead, collar, animal feed, dog carrier), have you already bought for your dog?
Too many toys to list, treats, car harness, Nylabones, doggie toothbrush, toothpaste, grooming supplies...

4. Do you regard your dog as a member of your family?
Definitely

5. On average, how much time per day do you spend intensively with your dog? (walk, activity, etc.)
2-3 hours a day on average, but sometimes a lot more. I'm not really including time I spend petting him or talking to him or just cuddling on the couch. Just walks and training and play.

6. How do you occupy your dog? (hunting, trialing, dog sports, simply as a family dog)
Walks, doggie park, training, games (fetch, frisbee, chase, etc)

7. a) Do you take any further interest in “dog-oriented” subjects? (literature, dog forums, etc.)
hehe, yes. I come to this forum and also read dog related books and watch dog related TV shows.

7. b) If so, how many hours per week?
That really depends... maybe 10 hours per week? But sometimes more, sometimes less.

8. Which luxury articles do you buy for your dog? (clothes, accessories, etc.)
Uh, he doesn't have any clothes. He has a car harness. He has two doggie beds that he almost never sleeps in.

Questionnaire on the dog culture in the USA

Your age:
Your place of residence: NY USA
Age of the dog(s): 1 Year old
Number of your dogs:

1. What dog breed is your dog/ are your dogs? Rough Collie.

2. How much money do you spend, on average, for your dog(s) per month? I really don't add it up. Besides her foods and supplements, I buy whatever is needed. If I see something I like for her or I think she would like, I buy it.

3. Which items, beside the standard equipment (lead, collar, animal feed, dog carrier), have you already bought for your dog? Numerous squeek toys, Chews, Kong Toys, Frisbees, Pull toys, several extra collars and leashes.

4. Do you regard your dog as a member of your family?
Absolutely. But not the leader.

5. On average, how much time per day do you spend intensively with your dog? (walk, activity, etc.) She gets a minimum of one hour walking daily in total. Longer if the weather is very good. If the weather is fair, we sometimes play outside on the property. Several times a week we go to a spot where she can run and play hard. She also gets plenty of attention inside as I work from my home. She also plays a LOT with the cats and has a large fenced in area on the property to go to as she wishes.

6. How do you occupy your dog? (hunting, trialing, dog sports, simply as a family dog) Tosca's a family dog. I do hope to advance her training to CGC and beyond though.

7. a) Do you take any further interest in “dog-oriented” subjects? (literature, dog forums, etc.) Absolutely.

7. b) If so, how many hours per week? It depends on if I am looking for specific information or just surfing for info on my dog and her breed, so it's hard for me to answer this. I'm not a tally-er of time on things like that. Sorry.

8. Which luxury articles do you buy for your dog? (clothes, accessories, etc.) I do not buy clothing for my dog. I'm just not somebody who is into that. I have purchased a unique dog house for her, however.

Age of the dog(s): 3 years old
Number of your dogs: 1

1. What dog breed is your dog/ are your dogs? He is a mixed breed, supposedly a lab and golden retreiver mix, but I think the golden part is actually some sort of herding dog.

2. How much money do you spend, on average, for your dog(s) per month? Probably $30-$40 on food, and another $20 on treats or toys. And if you would like to count the fact that I took him in this past weekend for his shots, and tests, etc. that was $130, but that isn't every month. Plus heatworm pills every six months (they come in six month packs) so that is $30 and then flea and tick is every 3 months and it is $30.

3. Which items, beside the standard equipment (lead, collar, animal feed, dog carrier), have you already bought for your dog? he has tons of toys, bones, several collars, two leashes, etc.

4. Do you regard your dog as a member of your family? Of course!!!!

5. On average, how much time per day do you spend intensively with your dog? (walk, activity, etc.) he gets an hour walk every day (maybe 45 minutes some days), but he is in the house with me all evening and night. he is an inside dog. He is only away from me when I am at work and at the gym.

6. How do you occupy your dog? (hunting, trialing, dog sports, simply as a family dog) we go hiking through the woods every weekend, and we go to the creek and the pond while we are hiking. Some weekends we go to the dog park, and at least once a week we go to his girlfriend, Jenny's house so he can play with her (she is a chocolate lab)

7. a) Do you take any further interest in “dog-oriented” subjects? (literature, dog forums, etc.) I love to read books on dogs, I read training books, and I read stories about dogs too. I also love to learn about all the different breeds.

7. b) If so, how many hours per week? probably 5, because that is what I usually do every day for my lunch hour.

8. Which luxury articles do you buy for your dog? (clothes, accessories, etc.) Just tons of toys, I can't stop buying toys for him, even though he loves to destroy them. I buy him rawhides too, and I buy him a jar of peanut butter so I can give him a taste every now and then. Ok, ok, he gets a little peanut butter every day.
